“Stayed again at Mira de Gredos. its a nice out of the way hotel in Sierra de Gredos with an outstanding view and walking access to walking routes, adventure trails and the Plataforma de Gredos. It’s operated by its owners which makes the service personalized and outstanding. Their variety of beers from tap it’s amazing and the whole experience is worth it. “Came here based on husband's obsession with roast chicken and reading about it in an article about the Michelin starred chef Paco morales. (Think it's run by his mum and dad). Really glad we went to check it out! In a residential area, a local takeaway with properly delicious roast chicken (u can skip the fries), also randomly picked a croqueta San Jacob - which is a schnitzel with jamon and bechamel inside. My fave was the eggplant stuffed with tomato, mushroom and chicken. It's a takeaway place so you'll need to take it somewhere to eat. Yum!”

“Delicious, traditional, Riojas cooking served in a pleasant atmosphere with kind, attentive staff. Ruth helped us decipher the menu and her recommendations were terrific. The lamb chops brought to the table on a smoking brazier are a must-have as is another house special, menestra-- a "vegetable stew" that isn't pretty but sure is tasty! Just about every table in the restaurant had these dishes on both of our visits. The cod in the Riojana style and the solomillo de ternera (steak) also were awesome. Bring your appetite-- servings are generous and meant to share. Be sure to book-- this place is always full and they only serve lunch, but what a lunch it is! You may not even want dinner afterward.”
