“My rate 4/5. It's a small but cozy restaurant. It made me feel like having a meal in a typical Dutch house: from chairs, glasses to plates. They were so cute, vintage and so Dutch. * Food: although they add some Asian ingredients to their menu but it's still very Dutch to me. We ordered Bordje doe maar lekker, bigbanger burger and bavette. The starter was ok. Not bad but not impressed. Bigbanger burger was ok too. The burger was a bit dry but could be fixed. Bavette steak was well cooked as requested: medium rare. Soft and juicy. However, chili oil was not matching with the dish. If the restaurant would like to add some spicy tastes please consider something else. Because the bavette steak was seasoning with sea salt, then the chili oil was also salty so together they made the dish too salty. Mashed potatoes also couldn't go well with chili oil with peanut. For me, it's totally failed. * Service: nice, kind and charming. No complaints. *Price: its reasonable, not so crazy expensive and the quality was decent too. The portions were fine. In general, I think it's a lovely restaurant to visit if you are in Alkmaar!”

“After entering we waited at least 5 minutes before someone came next to us. The manager gave his staff a lot of punishment in front of us. We were then sent to a table for 2 people even though we had reserved for 4. Then we were dumped in the back somewhere. When no one had come to us for a drink after fifteen minutes, a whole staff in the kitchen really irritated me with the way they talked to each other, we decided to leave and then had a delicious meal at IJzer. So big minus points for the bears. My first and last time with the bears unfortunately”

We’ve got a table on the -1 floor in the tiny room just next to the open kitchen: not the best place to relax. Food was mainly mediocre. Steak was to chewy and fatty, soups (both vegetarian and crab) were watery, dessert was ok but presentation was bad. I only liked gnocchi, but they were not classic gnocchi (fried) No, I can’t recommend the place.”

We were surprised that the burgers are made with goat meat instead of beef, which sounded weird - but it was delicious and didn't taste gamey like other goat dishes I've tried. Even the butter lettuce salad was really good, the sauce on it was amazing. The cocktails were also nice but nothing super special, and they have a good sake selection. The atmosphere is very cosy, with speakeasy vibes. A bit pricey but I'd come back to try other dishes. Friendly service from the bartender.”

It's really a kids friendly restaurant ( there is a children's Manu and many activities available for kids like a trampoline, bicycle, slide and other games)but because the venue is so specious and there are many seating options it's great for familys, or friends getting together, to have a good meal and celebrate . as the sun goes down it becomes a very lovely place for a romantic dinner Everything looks fresh and clean . The food is served in a very esthetic way .the portions are large and satisfying. There are several vegetarian options on the menu. Service was efficient and nice It took some time for the food to arrive at the table but it is such a nice venue and the atmosphere is so good That you hardly notice and just enjoy it. Prices are suitable (30-40 euro per person) to this kind of a restaurant We had a great experience as a family and we all would likely want to return and visit it again”

“This place was perfection! The vibes, food and service were great, I arrived with 3 other persons on Friday evening a little after 6pm. As we got there, we got seats inside as it was quite busy outside but still had seating inside. Instantly, seated and got menus, we ordered the Thai avocado salad, chef’s burger, sticky hoisin ribs and chicken satay. Drinks were fresh orange juice and beer. The burger was excellent! The beef, the sauce and toppings were in the right amount. The ribs were very tasty and had good flavour. Chicken satay was really tasty and the salad was very good. The sauce was a good touch to it. We also shared a Dutch apple pie, this was okay as it was served cold but still very tasty. Service was really nice and probably one of the best services and food I’ve received here in Amsterdam. 10/10”
