We chose the fresh mint tea and the vegan chickpea pancake with a delicious dressing that has a kick to it we had to order bread as the meal was perhaps too light I think a second pancake on that plate would be great. My friend chose the English breakfast which was very generous in terms of portions! Recommend to go and try this restaurant ASAP!”

“I visited Brasserie Blanc-Threadneedle Street with my parents for my 15th birthday and had an amazing night. The food was delicious and the service was incredible, especially Elin, our wonderful waitress who really made the night. To start, we had 2 of the Escargots and 1 Mediterranean Fish Soup. The snails were the best we’ve ever had (better than in France!) and the soup was so flavourful. For mains, we chose the 8oz Sirloin with Fries and Peppercorn Sauce, Pan-fried Stone Bass, and Chalkstream Trout. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and the fries were so good. The fishes were so beautiful and the sauces were so delicately crafted and really made the dishes. For dessert, we had the Cheese Selection, Pistachio Souffle, and Chocolate Orange Delice, which our waitress, Elin, so kindly lit a candle on and sung happy birthday. Thank you so much to all the staff and especially Elin for a wonderful evening. I highly recommend Brasserie Blanc and will definitely be coming back!”

“So this is found at the top of John Lewis. Go past the inside boring cafe, past the toilets to the Willow entrance. Booking is advised during busy times.. You can have a pod outside, or a cosy shed, eat outside, or inside the restaurant. The views arnt amazing, because the sides are all built up with trees and edging as such. However.... the whole atmosphere is done very well, and feels really nice with ambient lighting and funky trees. You can still see the sunshine, or sunset. Food was served very quickly, and the burgers were tasty. I cannot fault this restaurant, I think its a great place for both food or simply drinks. I fully recommend it and the atmosphere was spot on, even during the daytime. I shall return !!!”

“Food was delicious, prices are reasonable and view is amazing. Couldn't ask for much more. I got the set menu which was £25 for a three course meal and that included a glass of prosecco or virgin cocktail. For the starter I had the batter calamari, whitebait and courgette. The courgette was especially good. For main I had the sea bream and broccoli which tasted so good! And the dessert I had the creamy orange creme brulee which was again really good. The only thing I didn't like was the virgin cocktail because it had quite a strong taste of tonic water. The restaurant is positioned near Tower Bridge and depending where you sit you can see it lit up at night. There is also seating outside which I imagine would be really nice in the summer.”

“The Carlton tavern is only .3 of a mile away from the Marriott hotel in Maida Vale. So we walked there for lunch. It was very busy as there was a rugby game about to start. There are 3 different rooms in which you can sit to eat and drink. There's also plenty of outdoor seating. A lot of people come with their dogs. Most of them stay outside. A few of them brought their dogs inside. There are also A LOT of children. It looked as much like a daycare center as it did a bar. On a Saturday afternoon there were at least a dozen toddlers in the restaurant at any given time. So, it's definitely kid and dog friendly. Since they were so busy we had to go to the bar to order our food and drinks. We got a table right next to the front window in a small room with a fireplace and bar. I ordered a glass of white wine (not on the main menu. There's a separate wine menu), and my husband ordered a beer. For lunch I ordered the roasted chicken with a side of broccoli. My husband ordered the steak frite with chimichurri. Everything was very good! There was a yummy garlic sauce on the broccoli and more garlic on the chicken. We both finished our plates. We had to go to the bar to ask for the check. I've found this to be common in London if you don't want to wait too long for things. I highly recommend giving the Carlton a try. It's reasonably priced, has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.”

Mexican platter (nachos) aren't what they used to be there is more cheese sauce then actual cheese. Portion is nice and big thought. “Overall was a good experience. The only inconvenience was it took a while to initially be served and had to go to the bar to request for the table to be cleaned and to get a menu. Starters: We had the calamari and the buttermilk chicken to start which were nice however the calamari was a tad over fried. Mains: We both had the beef Sunday roast which was lovely. One of the best Sunday roasts I have had in a while. The beef was a bit fatty but some people prefer that. Desert: We were recommended the molten chocolate which we shared and it was amazing! Would definitely recommend if you are local and looking for a Sunday roast to enjoy. We will be coming back again for the roast.”
