“When you drive the road to Hana you have to resist the temptation to stop at all the many roadside trucks and stands along the way. Be patient and wait for Uncle Russell's Huli Huli Chicken. Hot and juicy, and a substantial portion. We ate at provided picnic tables in a rustic setting as the waves rolled over the dramatic jagged coastline. Felt I got a full $16 worth, best lunch on Maui. A great turn around point for the journey back if you like going back the way you came. For us it was a great refueling point for the continued journey around the south side of Haleakala where the most amazing coastline awaited along with the most difficult and harrowing stretch of road. You came this far on the road to Hana, but you are about to start the really difficult part of the drive. Timed right we came to the easier part of rosd just into the beauty of the setting sun against the south Maui shoreline.⁸”

“Literally the best food we have had during our stay on Maui. Better than MFH, which we can say with confidence as we ate there twice. Every single thing we ate was absolutely phenomenal and we will be going back AT LEAST twice before we leave. The smoked chicken was so crispy on the outside and I didn't have to work to get all the meat off the bone, it just fell right off. The Kalua pork was EXACTLY what you want from pulled pork, teeny bit of heat balanced perfectly by the coconut rice. The brisket melts in your mouth. We are not huge pork belly fans but being a BBQ truck, we had to try it....also phenomenal. The fern salad is indescribable. The coconut rice is sticky like sushi rice and flavored to perfection- not sweet or overly coconutty, balanced all the meats perfectly. The cornbread with guava butter was a perfect way to finish the meal. The green tea is also lovely, I don't like sweet drinks and it was only sweetened just enough to take the bitterness out of the green tea. 100000/10 would recommend, I love food and my husband laughed at me because I almost started crying when we were eating because it was so good. Oh, and lastly! THE PEOPLE!!! So so so so so nice, chill, helpful. Ugh I wish I could take this place and it's people home with us!!!”

“Guava Smoked is THE place for real deal Hawaiian Barbecue! We were in Oahu for a week and tried just about every kind of food the island has to offer and no matter what we ate, Guava Smoked stayed at the top of our list. The food was top notch! We had mixed plates and were able to try the short ribs, pork, chicken, and duck. All were excellently flavored and cooked to perfection. Mac salad and rice options were awesome and we loved the dressing on the green salad(wish we could use that dressing all the time!). The staff was incredible and extremely kind and helpful. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their business and customer service. It was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had when taking my family out to eat. If you are in Honolulu or anywhere on the island, this place is worth the stop and should be on your list of places to eat. Thanks again for everything! Next time we are in Honolulu, Guava Smoked will be our first stop!”

“Love the place—great plate lunch! Got the BBQ ribs and poke (forgot to take a picture of the poke, though)—both were awesome! The mac salad was good, too (they use spaghetti noodles, which I had never seen before. But still good!) The ribs were bomb—fall off the bone, great BBQ sause that had a great taste, but wasn't overpowering. They guy behind the counter is so chill and awesome. Definitely a place to grab some food and go to the beach. Heads up, it's an order and go kind of place, no room for eating there.”

“The meat is pretty decent and service is fast but like others said there wasn’t a lot of sides. We also seemed to get cuts of different meats on our plates like pork cuts when we asked for brisket cuts. The galbi and the bulgogi were pretty good. Though an issue I had was when I paid the lady asked for tip. I tip all the time but to be so upfront was a little pushy in my opinion.”

“Ate Loco Moco Regular size for $15.65 tax included. The price was reasonable for the quantity they gave. With the inflation this seems to be about the price for the average meal. Anything lower and it would be considered a cheap eats. It did taste good so no complaints.”
