“Really good bbq. Best beef ribs in town! Edit: After leaving my original review the owner commented that I was rude. Honestly I don’t recall being rude at all. My husband and I had a very nice conversation with the gentleman at the window (owner) actually while we waited for our food. Aside from the negative feedback that we received from the owner almost two weeks later, I will also add this. We went in around 6PM on a Monday and some of the items that we wanted were not ready and we were told it would be 1 hour for pork ribs and I believe 3 or 4 hours for chicken, so we opted for pulled pork instead because we simply could not wait that long for food. The food there is amazing! The owner (man at the window) is very friendly. Not sure why he would get on here and call us rude when I don’t believe we were. But we will more than likely go back and still recommend this place to other people even though we were given a poor review from the owner. Maybe he can tell us how we were rude the next time we’re there.”

They need more staff in the morning it's not fair to have 2 people working in the front not fair for the employees and customers. The lady taking the orders had to run back and forward ringing people up and buzzing the numbers and giving the salsas. I had a 30 minute break I was late going back. Be more mindful with your staff.”

The spring rolls were delicious and crunchy while the summer rolls were chewy and went perfectly with the sauce. The rice is soft and sticky while the barbecue beef was charred perfectly delicious. The service was good as they were patient even though we took a long time. The food came out quickly and the tables were clean.”

“This place is so wonderful. When you want that home BBQ'd taste but don't feel like pulling out the grill and messing up your own kitchen, this is the place for you. The food is absolutely fabulous. Have to try the brisket and rib tips !!! The bbq beans are delicious as well. If you like banana pudding, you will love Robert Earl's. I don't care too much for banana pudding but theirs is different in a fantastic way. I actually ate this banana pudding. I LOVE peach cobbler and have yet to try theirs. I guess everyone loves theirs because every time I go it's always sold out. This place is really close to my heart because I went there with a huge last minute order and Robert Earl and his wonderful wife Tanya came through for us. I needed a catering order for a Celebration of Life. We discussed our options and they put us together a nice order that fit our budget. Not only did they fulfill my order and meet my requested accommodations, they showed genuine love for our family and event. No level of customer service could ever top that. They treated us, strangers, like family. For that I will be forever grateful and they will always be family to us.”

“Good for the show! It’s an experience to try if you have family or friends visiting and want to impress them but it’s not something that I would personally crave. The Koh Galbi Jjim with cheese is so heavy and fatty + I don’t think it’s a dish that works well with cheese, they just added it to make the fire show, which was a good strategy since it made them popular in LA. The service was nice and the staff friendly.”

“The food was very low quality. I spent over $100 and did not get much food at all, the seafood pancake had no seafood, but imitation crab. The bulgogi was fatty and soaked in liquid. Bibimbop was very bland vegetables were weak. Even the rice was not fresh. I love Korean food so this was very disappointing. I do not recommend this place and will never return.”

“Wow. Run to this barbacoa. We ordered both the white and red Barbacoa. The red Barbacoa was similar to a consommé soup and delicious. The white Barbacoa is just flavored with a dry rub rather than the red soup the very similar, I would order the white if you just want more of a meat taste, but order the red is you want a more robust spicy flavor? We also ordered an appetizer - pizza-type thing, which was a base lay of beans topped with meat and cactus. Eh, I could have done without but it was a nice presentation.”

The leg and thigh combo was huge almost like a turkey thigh and leg but it was chicken. Pulled pork was 2nd best then pork rib. I picked the Mac and cheese but next time would choose differently. Parked on the street at 4pm on a Saturday.”

“AJ's Tex-Mex Barbeque. The name is a bit long, but so is the flavor of the food they serve. For a medium-sized restaurant, it's all kitchen. You can sit outside if you want, but it's a south facing place, so you are liable to get burnt yourself (see pictures). Thank God for Pat's on Laurel next door. AJ's will deliver next door, and the Pat's on Laurel will welcome lunch goers, provided they buy their drinks from the bar. It's not a hard rule, but it's polite. Back to the food. AJ's BBQ is only very fine. It's not perfect, but that's the problem with all BBQ restaurants. BBQ is meant to be eaten fresh out of the smoker, not just hot when you come in. Hot doesn't mean fresh, and my Mexican breakfast burrito was indeed hot, but the brisket inside, while tasty, wasn't fresh. I spent basic training in Missouri, trained in Texas, and lived in Kansas City, Little Rock, and Memphis. I know fresh BBQ. This was only 4 out of 5 stars. Too bad. We need a perfect BBQ joint in Valley Village, like the spectacular 'Bear Pit' in Mission Hills. That place has (sorry to my good BBQ loving friends) the best darned BBQ anywhere in the world. I salivate just thinking about it. You'd have never guessed that Los Angeles is the BBQ capital of the world. For those without my experience, AJ's BBQ will do very nicely. The brisket and pulled pork are tender, the pickled everything is fantastic, and the sides are groovy. Two and a half Thumbs Up.”
