“We’ve won some games here and lost some. Ample bathrooms and food is pretty good. But the tournament committee can’t actually be bothered to pursue age eligibility inquiries (despite laying out a procedure for doing so in the rules). They have to decide if they’re even interested, and it turns out that they really aren’t (or maybe aren’t if the team in question is a regular customer with a few teams playing.) Word to the wise: You can pitch a 16 year old in the first game of a 14U tourney and save the rest of your legal pitchers for the rest of the tournament. Someone could call you out on this, of course, but you can feel pretty good about taking your chances here: they’re probably not going to do anything about it even if you’ve got your $250 and documents ready to go.”
