“This is such a brilliant hotel! Perfectly located amongst loads of bustling restaurants and bars, and within easy walking distance to Rome's main tourist hot-spots. Yet the hotel is quiet and peaceful, tucked away down a side road, and enjoys lovely gardens, which we sat out in for breakfast, despite it being the end of November. The staff here are fabulous - from the lovely people in reception to the breakfast and bar staff -- all are so friendly and welcoming. We had a good laugh with everyone, it is such a happy place. Our room was kept spick and span by the housekeepers -- everything was perfect! We are planning our next trip to Rome -- it is such an amazing city -- and we will definitely be staying at the Hotel Santa Maria again.”

“"Amazing value" doesn't feel like a fair assessment because I don't feel like I've sacrificed anything for a better price. I felt more like I was staying at a friend's private villa than I did a guest at a hotel. The grounds and view are breathtaking, Antonello and the rest of the staff are so kind, and the spa is top-notch. Plus, La Terrazza is conveniently located for accessing Assisi's historic center within 3 minutes while still being removed from the hubbub. I happily extended my stay here by another night.”

“The Donna Camilla Savelli is a mixed bag. The positives- the building itself - It is simply beautiful. The common areas, hallways and garden are so elegant. The serving staff, cleaners, and Ian the bell boy were also lovely. The negatives- For a four star hotel our “Executive” room was somewhat disappointing. The soundproofing was very poor. We were woken between 5-6am every morning by delivery vehicles, laundry collection, glass collection etc. The bathroom was very outdated, no dressing gowns, no coffee machine, and (strangest of all) two paper cups (a china cup and saucer would have been nice). The buffet breakfast was extensive. A large choice of food. Unfortunately the bacon and sausages were very greasy though, and a $5 extra charge for an omelette rather unnecessary in a 4 star establishment. Also milk had to be requested which was also strange. Finally we found the reception staff to be polite, but a little cold and unwelcoming (sorry not being unkind but that was our impression). Overall we loved the hotel building and garden, but feel that the overall experience could have been better, especially given the premium price charged to stay there.”

“Our favorite hotel in Milan so far! Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, they are always trying their best to accommodate us with all our needs and they go above and beyond. The concierge is always trying to give us relevant information and also follows up with our trips which is so thoughtful. Housekeeping are the best!!! They clean our rooms twice and do turndown service without us asking and always making sure we have enough water and amenities in general. Room service options are very limited however they are also trying to accommodate our request and preferences, delivery is also fast. We asked for 2 rooms for 5 people. And both rooms did not disappoint, the 3 people room was very spacious and every bag had a stand of its own. Location is excellent, and very safe area. Totally recommend Grand hotel et de Milan for an exceptional stay in Milan. We would always come back 🫶🏻”

“I can't comment on the room because I didn't stay in the hotel, but they seem beautiful. The service is great they treat you like you are family. The location is nice it was probably a villa turned into a hotel and restaurant. The thing I must compliment the most is their restaurant, the food was delicious. The best ones where the ravioli stuffed with cheese and potatoes drowned in some tomato sauce 😋. The tiramisu was also delicious, especially the cream.”

“Great location with friendly staff. On site restaurant is a real gem, with the pizza being the star of the show. Other dishes are good too, but I do like pizza done properly, and here, you won’t be disappointed. Good value for money. We had a lakeside pitch which was excellent. Local amenities are also good, with good value pedalo rental within 5 minutes walk. The supermarket close by is well stocked and mostly good value for money. The pitches are reasonably sized but care is required to ensure that you don’t creep beyond the defined boundaries. This is policed quite effectively, but could probably be better explained to newcomers in order to avoid any potential misunderstandings. Manoeuvring a caravan to your allocated pitch can be challenging but people are generally very accommodating in moving their inflatables, sun loungers etc in order to help. All in all, a superb site. Would happily return in the future.”

“We reserved a “suite” in the hotel. Accommodations were comfortable and it had a nice rooftop private balcony. There was a peculiar smell in the apartment but once we opened windows and let fresh air in it went away. Very comfortable for a family of 4 as it has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. You have everything you need for a few days here. Location: to get here from the train station or airport you’ll need to take a water taxi and then walk about 10+ minutes to the location. Really not ideal with luggage or at night. Customer Service: front desk staff was nice but did not interact much to elaborate. Would I stay here again? Probably not because location isn’t great.”

The creativity and the presentation were very good but the temperature and the flavor were not up to par. The place looks like a hotel’s dining room from the 60’s and so are the toilets, entrance etc. Service was warm, welcoming, good English but way too many busy tables for front staff of three. We came here as it is Michelin recommended, but it was below the standards of any other restaurant we followed based on the same guide. Wines are priced reasonably, food and set menu overpriced (157 Euro with 18 for wine) when compared to alternatives within the region.”

“Myself and family stayed here for roughly 2 and a half weeks due to a family emergency landing us in the area. Despite the circumstances of our being there, this hotel went above and beyond and delivered an amazing experience. They honestly helped us through a very tough time. Every single staff member was helpful. Every single staff member was polite. The breakfast staff was phenomenal and the breakfast offerings were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the Pasticciotto. Front desk staff were very accommodating and jumped to assist with even the slightest things. They also happily called a local taxi service when needed. The doormen/ bar staff were exceptionally gracious and assisted the mobility impaired members of my family with an electronic ramp down the front-entrance steps. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were always kept up well. Housekeeping staff were extremely responsive to even minor requests Even in poor circumstances, this was honestly the best hotel stay I have ever had. To all the staff, my family thanks you.”
