“This hotel is always one of the busiest and for good reason. First they have the best location in all of Dumaguete; right on the boulevard. Second, it's a very nice and modern hotel with a very big conference center. Thirdly, they have a very nice cafeteria with high quality filipino foods and desserts. Lastly, their staff is very well trained and friendly. Play speak excellent english and are always ready to assist in any way they can.”

Salcedo Village, 161 H.V. Dela Costa, Makati, 1220 Metro Manila, Philippines

“Dear Management Team (OPP) I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the numerous issues we encountered during our recent two-night stay at your establishment. While we appreciate the competitive rates, the overall experience was subpar and left us with a negative impression. Firstly, a consistent and distressing issue we faced was the presence of cockroaches throughout our stay. These pests were spotted on the side table and even inside the entrance door. I even captured a video of a cockroach in the bathroom. I promptly brought this matter to the attention of the duty manager, but this persistent problem significantly detracted from our comfort and overall satisfaction. Furthermore, despite our prior request and the trauma of our initial parking experience, we were unable to secure guaranteed parking upon our return to the hotel. This forced us to rely on Grab car services to ensure a parking spot would be available when we returned. The inconvenience of waiting for parking, especially after a tiring Christmas party event, was highly frustrating and served to exacerbate our already negative experience. In addition to these issues, the restaurant's ventilation system appeared inadequate, as the lingering smell of food permeated our clothes. Despite showering, the odor persisted, necessitating an additional shower to mitigate the unpleasant aroma. This aspect further contributed to our dissatisfaction with our stay. Regrettably, If a complimentary accommodation is offered, I will have to respectfully decline. The combination of the traumatic parking experiences, the persistent presence of cockroaches, and the lingering smell from the restaurant have left an indelible negative impression. Even with the lure of free accommodation, I cannot overlook the significant impact these issues have had on our stay and our overall perception of your establishment. I hope that this feedback catalyzes for meaningful improvements to address these critical concerns. We genuinely wish for a positive guest experience and hope that our feedback will contribute to the enhancement of your services for future guests. Thank you for your attention to these matters, and we hope to see significant improvements in the future. Sincerely, From Room 3507 PS: I have a video of the small cockroach. Just let me know if you want to see I am trying to upload unfortunately not supported. I tried to capture some photos. To be honest, it is all over the room there are like on the side table, entrance door, and sink. It was a nightmare to me.”

“We got accomodated for check in as early as 9 am. First time to have experienced this generosity. Very friendly and accommodating front desk staff. Hotel design is contemporary and the lobby beautifully curated. Rooms are spacious and sheets smells clean. AC is fully functional. WIFI is decent. You get drinking water at the lobby. Breakfast buffet is okay. I had a good time at the Avior. Definitely coming back here again.”

627 Epifanio de los Santos Ave, Cubao, Quezon City, 1109 Metro Manila, Philippines

“This hotel doesn't even deserve 1 star. We are tourism students and we expect a quality of service but this hotel disappoints us. We've been food poisoning not just us students but also the other guests. And they didn't even give us the designated room because of overbooking. Our check in is at 5pm but we got our room around 7pm and it was not the room that we expected they just put like a hospital bed so that we could fit. Even the staff don't take our concerns seriously.”

North Road, Brgy, San Manuel Road, Puerto Princesa, 5300 Palawan, Philippines

“The hotel itself is adequate for the price-no complaints. However the tenanted travel operator leaves a bit to be desired. Whilst a tenant, by implication the hotel is almost recommending them. I was annoyed when charged twice for the environmental fee on an El Nido tour and not allowed to leave the boat until I had paid even though I had a receipt back at my hotel stating that I had. As a 73 year old foreign traveller I don’t like being threatened. I cannot recommend the hotel to my friends if they are going to suffer what happened to myself.”

Sitio Lugadia, Brgy, Barangay Corong Corong, El Nido, 5313 Palawan, Philippines

“Our family stay in El Nido was made perfect by this hotel's impeccable service and facilities. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the shower had fantastic water pressure, a small but significant detail that did not go unnoticed. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness added a personal touch to our visit, making us feel truly welcome. The breakfast was delicious, catering well to both our tastes and our children's. Our experience was nothing short of delightful, and we're grateful to the team for making our family holiday so special. Thank you!”

Aliya Surf Resort

( 8 reviews )
Closed until 02:00 PM

208 Buton St, Baler, Aurora, Philippines

“This beachfront property offers great value for money. The rooms are relatively small but the bathroom is surprisingly spacious. The place is well-kept and clean. They offer free breakfast with decent variety. Main entree - beef tapa, longganisa, pork tocino and bangus - were all a bit dry and need to be improved; but they are supplemented by diff items per day - congee, champorado, crab and corn soup, ensaymada, suman, etc. - which were all good. The live performer on acoustics guitar at night is very good and provided great entertainment from 8–10pm. But sound-proofing is not good, so even though we stayed at the opposite end of the resort, we could still hear the music from the room. If you have little ones who need to go to bed before 10pm, you may need to consider this. The best part of staying at this beachfront property is that it allows guests to enjoy the sunrise either at the veranda on the second floor or by the infinity pool or by the shore. Surf instructors are effective - Aliya is allegedly the first to offer surfing lessons in Baler. Within an hour, most people learn to get up on the board and glide to shore. This is a highly recommended facility for those looking for a great-value venue. All the best restaurants are also around this area. Oh, one of the highlights of the trip was the ATV ride by the river trail (separate review), and if you are a guest at the Aliya, you get a 10% discount. That’s another great-value-for-money deal!”

8V3X+X8V, F. Ramos St, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu, Philippines

“I spent a week at this hotel for a quick vacation, and overall, it was a great choice for those on a budget. The hotel's location at the street corner made it convenient to hail a taxi, which was a plus when I was out exploring during the day. The room I stayed in was rather small, and it felt cramped when I had big luggage with me. However, the beds were surprisingly comfortable, providing a good night's sleep, and the air conditioning was quiet and efficient. Great too that all rooms have small refrigerators. One thing I appreciated was the presence of 24-hour convenience stores within walking distance of the hotel. It made it convenient to grab any essentials I needed throughout my stay. I had a nice experience with the hotel staff as well. One time, when it was raining, the doorman kindly lent me an umbrella so that I didn't have to go back up to my room. It was a small gesture, but it made a difference. Unfortunately, during my stay, there were a couple of downsides related to timing. The elevator was undergoing repairs for a few days, so I had to use the stairs to reach the 4th floor where my room was located. It was a bit inconvenient, especially when carrying luggage. Additionally, the hotel's café was under renovation, so breakfast was brought to our room. While the service was accommodating, I missed the experience of having breakfast in a communal space. 🤗✨”
