“Staff is great and friendly. Breakfast = awesome. However, had I not known that this is a 4 start hotel, I would not have assumed it was. The bathroom has mold on the ceiling, the pillows are skinny, it's too hot in the rooms and the AC doesn't do much. You can tell that the hotel is old, door hinges have been changed from one side to another and it's visible, cracks and chips in the tiles and sink, the toilet paper is 1 ply and it reminded me of the cheap bad one we used to have in the 80's and 90s'. No facial tissues, not too much space to leave your suitcases, either. But I do see that they are trying, and overall the stay isn't unpleasant, just not 4 stars.”

“I have visited this hotel on 31st of January. I had a business meeting and I waited my business partner in the lobby. The receptionist on duty was a lady who probably worked before in a state owned hotel or somewhere where kindness or being polite is considered a bad joke. She answered all my questions with a rude tone, questioning and completing every one of my sentences. -Is possible to have a cup of coffee in the restaurant? -You can have a coffee if this is all you want to drink... After waiting 5 minutes, the restaurant was empty and nobody asked us abour our order, I went out and asked the receptionist about the waiter. - A certain person should come. -Can you call this person and tell her that there are people waiting to be served? -How should I know where this person is ? I sincerely give owner a free advice. Get rid of this receptionist asap.”

“We chose this hotel spontaneously; difficulties arose with the booked accommodation, so we chose Union Plaza from the options offered. It turned out to be a great hotel! We regretted not booking it right away. There is a good aroma from the entrance, a pleasant interior, the room is clean. The breakfast was also a pleasant surprise; in addition to the fact that it takes place on the 12th floor, with a view of the city, it has quite a variety of dishes. Of the minuses: 1) We booked a double bed at booking, but they gave us a room with two single beds. In general, this did not affect our vacation, since these single beds did not move apart, and we stayed for 2 nights and because of this we no longer wanted to ask for a new room. However, we paid 300 lei more for a room with a double bed. 2) We had a problem with the door card. When, after opening the door, you have to put it in a special cardholder on the wall for electricity to appear in the room, it went off 3 times and the electricity turned off. It was a little annoying, but it didn't interfere with the rest. 3) There was no kettle or coffee machine in the room. 4) The window did not open “up”; only if you open the window completely, you can ventilate the room. Some may be scared that the hotel is located away from the central districts. But in fact there were no problems with this, because it cost about 15 lei to get to the center by taxi, and 3 lei by bus. Buses run frequently and taxis arrive in 2 minutes. But for those who like to walk, then 15 minutes and you are in the center.”

The rooms aren't always the best, and depending on where your room is, you may have issues with getting hot water in the evening. The food is decent, and you have free soda refills when at breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff is really friendly and have attention to detail. Overall a great place to stay”

“We stayed there 11 days! The breakfast was very poor and every day the same. Really, no change: no new products, no local and fresh food! The personnel was not attentive to bring the food when finished! This was very uncomfortable! During our staying, the washbasin in our bathroom was not cleaned not even once! No cleaning with vacuum cleaner in the room! This hotel doesn't worth 4 stars! It was for the third year when we came here, because it is the only 4 stars hotel, in the area. The same situation repeated every year, even if we hoped that something will change in better! No chance! Next year we will find another solution for hosting! Maybe for a short staying you may try 1-2 days ... The room is spacious, but you cannot dry a towel or a swimsuit, because is not possible! The most annoying thing was the very very loud music from the restaurant cross the street. It is very hard to sleep with maximum noise until late after midnight! We were with our friends, other two families. We are all decided to renounce to this hotel because, nothing will change and the price will be higher and higher. They don't care! Maybe the events they are organized and the pool is sufficient for their poor business. Strange, but true! It is amazing how they treat this situation without any scruples for their clients!”
