“This was our first time in Gettysburg and I loved the proximity to everything with this B&B. We were able to walk to everything from Mead next door, an Irish Pub, mass, Starbucks, and tours! It was a birthday weekend, and our room had period art with birthday wishes throughout. We also had both houses to ourselves! Perks of going during a snowy weekend. Things to note: breakfast is not included, but offered for a charge. There are two historic homes, so each room selection on their website should let you know what location. We were in the Welty house. This wasn’t clear to me when we booked on a third party site, and please book on their site. So much easier for them and cheaper for us! Finally, we loved sitting and having tea and coffee, watching our favorite show, and keeping warm while the snow fell. Such an amazing experience. Thank you! PS communication was fabulous!”

“Usually stay here when seeing a show at Dutch Apple dinner theater. Rooms are usually very quiet. The beds are comfortable and room is very clean. Bathrooms are small but efficient. I like the grab bar in the shower and the small fridge/freezer combo in the room. I also like the outlets in the bedside lamp for plugging in my cpap and phone charger. Don't care for their breakfast buffet. I would rather have table service. They're doing some renovations on their check-in desk area and have that entrance blocked presently, which makes walking back from the show a little inconvenient. Also, I don't like how the price varies so greatly from one time to another.”

“We chose this place after being in a holy moly dump. We had to leave another hotel because of safety concerns. We came from out of town to respond to a family crisis. This place is conveniently located across the shopping mall. There is lots of parking and eateries in the surrounding area. The staff is pleasant, respectful and helpful. The place is very clean and safe. The only complaint I have and this is small..not really an issue but my sheets were too small on my king size bed and they forgot to leave wash cloths on our second day. I'm glad we had our iwn. Other than that, we had a pleasurable experience at this location. Thank you Hampton Inn for making my staff a pleasant one. Next time just remember my wash cloths. *4.5 stars”

“Lovely place to stay for a romantic weekend in Gettysburg! The owners greet you as you check in and share that same warm welcome each morning at breakfast! The breakfasts, especially the pastries, were wonderful and they even made gluten-free muffins each morning for my husband. The room is quaint and comfortable, ours had a two-person jacuzzi tub. The location was close to everything, so we just walked about town each day. Will surely return again!”

“We were originally going to stay at super 8 until they declined us all because my father in law booked our room for us. We just drove all the way from Florida. We were exhausted. The ladies at the front desk were SO sweet. They accommodated our needs as quick as they could! My father in law was able to prove that yes, we have authorization to use his card and that yes he is paying for the room for us. They got us checked in as soon as they received that information! The room was clean, the bed was comfy, the bathroom was amazing! And the breakfast was delicious! They had such a variety. And don't even get me started on the indoor HEATED POOL. Yes we had to take the stairs, but we had such a good night's rest that it was worth it. Definitely my new favorite hotel. I definitely recommend!”

“We had a campsite for our motorhome, A16. Person who checked us in was adequate but was not interested in answering our questions about the surrounding area. Campsite was adequate, with electric, water and sewer. Many seasonal campers there, friendly and helpful. However, was dismayed by small grouping of confederate flags on higher campsites in the woods. Is a 30 minute drive to Jim Thorpe. Shoo-fly pie purchased from their in-store baker was the best we have ever had. Would go back for that alone. Beautiful countryside views.”

“What a great stay we had in November 2023 for Black Friday weekend. This Hotel was fantastic. The suite was large and awesome with full kitchen & Fireplace with separate bedrooms. The showers were SO FANTASTIC. Excellent water pressure and shower heads. The best I've ever experienced while travelling. They offer very nice dispensers in the shower which have Shampoo, Conditioner and Shower gel. SO NICE !! The complimentary breakfast was also a nice surprise. Food was great and lots to choose from. The whole stay for 3 nights was really great. We felt safe and secure the whole time. Thank you Hilton Homewood Suites for making us so happy we stayed here. We will be back next year.”

“Some of the best comfort food I've had, with some reservations. I've been coming here for a few years and expect to keep going with my family. Their food is just incredible. Brisket tots?! What? Amazing. Giant soft pretzels. Good beer selection. And giant burgers with creative slants. Now I *have* had two burgers that were bad. One was just soaked in juice and the bread was totally falling apart, the plate awash with liquid. Another time it was raw inside. The server spotted that right away though and offered me a new burger. Within a few minutes the owner came out to speak to me and make sure we were OK with everything else while my burger was being taken care of. Besides those two incidents I've had over 20 that were the peak of what you could want in a burger. Huge fan of the Jimmy Burger and its dry Buffalo rub and sweet n spicy chili sauce. Service is typically very good and attentive. Atmosphere is friendly and the place is well cared for. The porch is often comfy (weather permitting) though the tables are expanded metal. The interior has bar side and fire side. The bar has several TVs and isn't loud or intrusive. The fire side has a fire, and is cozy. Tastefully decorated and the wood interior is glossy.
