“Fantastic hotel, in a quiet area yet just 10 minute stroll along the river into the city centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned every day, there is a minibar, safe, hairdryer, shower gels and tea/coffee in the room. The breakfast was excellent, with a choice of cereals, pastries, cooked items, salads, pancakes and fresh fruit. The rooftop area is a bonus, with bar, comfy seats and a lovely heated swimming pool (properly heated, so it was nice to use even in November). The views from the rooftop were amazing. Definitely would return to this hotel if we ever visit Florence again.”

“We were there with the tent. We were camping very near to the sea and the view was gorgeous. The staff was not that friendly though (we expect it was because it was the closing of the season mid of October). The beach is great, in mid October it was warm enough to go swimming. We were without car, which was a problem since the bus doesn't run that often.”

We had a couple issues pop up on our first night there and the resident manager had already begun plans to fix them and accommodate us before we even had to ask. A lot of other properties would have heard about the issues and just apologized, but the resident manager and other staff here went above and beyond to rectify the issues. Would stay here again and the location can’t be beat.”

“Visited this region of Italy whilst our son was competing in a world kickboxing championships and we stayed in this hotel. The rooms have been renovated to a very good standard and are very modern. The evening meals are very good and there is plenty of choice and the staff are very friendly and always willing the help. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it for anyone that is looking to stay in this area.”

“Absolutely wonderful location right across the street from the Duomo. Rooms had incredible storage, and the bathrooms were very roomy and clean and well appointed. The bed was one of the few beds in my italy trip where I actually slept very comfortably, and the pillows were absolutely delicious. The owner is one to make sure that you're staying in his hotel is scrumptious, And you are enjoying yourself during your stay in Florence. His staff went out of the way to make sure that we had dinner reservations at zero hour and that we enjoyed our breakfast before we left on our busy schedule in Florence. I really wish google would have more than just five star rating hotel. I will stay here again.”

“Room we had was great with a soft, comfortable bed. The bathroom featured a Jacuzzi that was wayyyy too big for the bathroom and took up all the room! There was no shower curtain so it made a water mess every where. Other then that one negative, everything else was fine :)”

“We arrived to Hotel Hermitage to stay for 4 nights. When we arrived we were told that there was a leak in our bathtub so we couldn’t shower that day. They gave us a free glass of wine and we thought “oh well”. The next day after showering the water was leaking everywhere around the sink and base of shower. We mopped it up thinking it was just from us showering. We got home hours later and the flood almost reached our bedroom. It was everywhere. We told front desk and they said they couldn’t repair it until the next day, but if they did repair it, we would need to be out of the room for 8 hours. We did as they asked which is hard in 40 degree heat and not being able to shower. It was unpleasant. We got home to the following MESS (see attached pictures). We went to front desk where the lady was nice but she was working alone. So they had the cook go clean our room floor. It was absolutely disgusting. We asked for a manager and she informed me the manager would contact me the next day. We tried all day to get a new room or a Manager and nothing. Even the day after, no manager. Nothing was given to us. They “allowed” us to sit on the rooftop for a free glass of wine (I’d rather a bathroom) and we waited 20 minutes without being served. If you want horrible service but a beautiful rooftop patio, this is the place. It’s a stunning patio with grumpy servers who barely come to serve you. It was our second time there. The hotel had SO much potential but poor customer service in the event of a problem. This hotel was very expensive. I’m so disappointed. All in all nothing was ever resolved. No manager ever contacted us. No compensation. We couldn't wait to get to Bologna to get a shower.”
