“The hotel is my favourite in the Lake District, It’s in the middle of Ambelside with access to great walks, rides, shops, cinema and lots of other local attractions. It’s also central & allows great access to the rest of the Lake District. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. The hotel feels very luxurious & makes you feel very relaxed, it is spotlessly clean & the new loft room, that we were lucky to stay in was the best, amazing, with your own private steam room, sauna & a massive jet bath for 2, with a TV in the bathroom as well as the bedroom. All spaces are beautifully decorated. There is also a small gym, lovely pool & spa area - steam room, sauna, indoor jacuzzi & outdoor jacuzzi with massage jets. The bar & restaurant is lovely and also serves an amazing breakfast. All good and we look forward to staying again. Many Thanks”

“Have to give a mention to this gorgeous cafe we stumbled across on our visit to Grasmere. Didn't know where to eat and took a chance but so glad we did. The service was fantastic and the owner so friendly. Great value for money compared to most places in The Lakes with good, hearty portions which is what's needed after a hike up the hills! They also catered for Vegans which is hard to find. The food was piping hot and delicious! Lovely works of art inside to either admire or purchase. Great all round cafe! Will definitely go back!! 💚🌿”

“Just managed to get here on the weekend if the awful weather, the hotel was easy find a d has lots of space in the car park out front. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, and everything is clean and well kept. Our room was great and the beds were very comfortable. The room had everything you needed. The walls did seem to be a bit thin, as you could just hear the TV in the adjoining room, but nothing distracting. Would certainly recommend for a weekend or even a week away. The breakfast was good quality with lots on offer, and all food came out quickly and hot. Had no complaints about the food - would definitely recommend having the Sunday Lunch, very nice.”

“We had our fifth stay at The County hotel recently. Yet again it was delightful, The hotel is so clean, welcoming and warm.The staff cannot do enough to help you. The food is delicious with a varied menu choice daily- a special mention to the two chefs Shaun and Steve.
