Windsor Reserve
4.4
( 8 reviews )

2 Victoria Road, Devonport, Auckland 0624, New Zealand

“Took the ferry across to Devonport before Anzac Day and had a lovely lunch on the esplanade. Poignant time of contemplation visiting the Devonport dawn Anzac preparations. My father joined the air force and fought in both the second world war and the Korean war. We have so much to be thankful for in the freedoms they were willing to give their lives for for the preservation of our Western way of life”

Red Rocks - Pariwhero
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Ōwhiro Bay, Wellington 6023, New Zealand

“Quite the hike out to the red rocks....worth it. But the shining gem was hiking all the way to Sinclair Head and catching the fur seals basking in the sunshine. Not for the faint of heart... 3 miles out and then back, over sand and rocks, some water hazards and steep, rocky climbs! But the breathtaking views and seals make up for any struggle to get there!”

Wharekopae River, Gisborne, New Zealand

“Reached there around 8am on a bright sunny day of a weekend and nobody else was there. A glamorous waterfall, specially with the complete blue sky 😍 …”

Goat Island Marine Reserve

Leigh 0985, New Zealand

“Loved it there. Beautiful scenery. Lovely beach and amazing and educational Marine Discovery Centre. Definitely worth a day trip.”

Baylys Beach
4.6
( 10 reviews )

Sea View Road, Baylys Beach 0377, New Zealand

“An awesome place for trekking along the beach by either motorbike car or foot. This wild west coast beach during low tide offers about 100m of compact sand for easy driving. if you don't have a 4 wd drive, I suggest you are off the beach 90 minutes before high tide, as the soft sand further up the beach is very difficult to traverse in 2 wd. deflating tyre pressure to 15psi helps with traction on the soft sand, you'll just need to pump the up when you get back! If you do get stuck, you won't often have to wait long for someone to pass by who will likely stop and pull you out. Traveling with others is the best way to experience this and remember some walks talkies.”

Awakeri Hot Springs
4
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 02:00 PM

1363 State Highway 30, Awakeri 3192, New Zealand

“The staff and management are the worst I have ever seen. Please just go somewhere else. Overcharged for everything. Rude and unhelpful. Dirty and unwelcoming. Rural dumb brain dead... I will always remember how horrible you made my experience. Thanks again.”

Kawhia Hot Water Beach
4.5
( 8 reviews )

3331 Te Puia Road, Kawhia 3889, New Zealand

“I visited in Winter, and was not here for the Hot Water, but to enjoy the beauty of the beach and the surroundings. It is a bit of a climb up the sand dune, (each side) and if you are not fit, could be a little bit of a challenge. I found the beach was lovely and quiet, but has lovely views. Worth the trip even if not here for the Hot Water Beach. There is warning signs re summer that the sand can be very hot, so if going then, be prepared with footwear, and consider your dog if you are taking one in summer.”

Little Shoal Bay Reserve
4.5
( 10 reviews )

Council Terrace, Birkenhead, Auckland 0627, New Zealand

“A lovely quiet little reserve with a great picnic area and a playground. When it's high tide the water is great for wander around in as it will generally only be waist deep out quite far. Lots of parking too and a tennis court across the road.”

Hobsonville Point Coastal Walkway
4.6
( 8 reviews )

Boundary Road, Hobsonville, Auckland 0616, New Zealand

“One of the best walking trails in North-west Auckland. Amazing views all along the coast and stunning views of north harbor. The walk takes you through WWII era bunkers and air fields. There's also an amphitheater (the only public toilet is near this). Ample parking space 🅿️ and plenty of options for cafes/restaurants after a great walk! …”
