“This is a spot for a several hour visit. Even with the lighthouse closed, we saw several new birds. Suggestion: stop at headquarters pond for the view overlooking platform. Also right near where the Florida trail crosses there is a spot where the otters have a feast. Enjoy”

“Absolutely breathtaking! 1st of all, it's the sea shell collector's galore! Water is so gorgeous and clear and so turquoise! Waves are non-existent! I had a wonderful time just walking along the shore, chasing the headlight- wood end light, i believe. I walked about 1.5 until i turned around. Such a beautiful scenery, pristine blue waters backed up by sand dunes, just breathtaking. Besides the gorgeous scenery, the beach offers lifeguards, connections, showers, and restrooms. The parking, i believe, was $25 and included other parks as well, map included”

“This is a beautiful nature preserve! You can find plenty of wildlife to watch or photograph, including a variety of birds and crabs. The scenery is also beautiful The beach is less than half a mile walk, but enough where it stays quiet. Even on a busy weekend, there are not many people around. Parking is harder to come by, because there is no parking lot. Instead, you'll have to park on the street.”

“We hiked the Solstice Canyon loop. This 3 mile trail has a lot of interests. There are ruins, a tiny waterfall, pretty wild flowers for this season, and the nice views. It was very easy to walk and I really like there. I will introduce this trail to my other friends who like to hike.”

“I love this park. It is a quiet little gem just north of the city. There is a fantastic playground and some large gathering areas at the top of the park. A disc golf course, soccer field, and some great walking trails. The beach is a bit of a walk down the hill from the parking lot. There are two trails that will lead you there. I have never seen more than a handful of families or others seeking a peaceful place down on the beach. You can walk north or south along the sandy beach for quite a way to find the perfect spot to sit and read.”

“My favorite time of year down at the Santa Cruz harbor is Christmas light time, and the Lighted Boat Parade is definitely the best. The boats are all decked out and take part in a parade in the harbor for people to see – and it brings quite a crowd. It’s a fairly quick parade but it’s a lot of fun. The restaurants are all open, so you can eat before or after and make an evening of it. The boardwalk boat and the one with reddish pink lights that had Tinkerbell were my two favorites! Check this out next year or just head down to the harbor during the evening and see some of the lighted boats. Most of the action is for the parade but it still feels like Christmas when you are down here”

“Very nice jog. Beautiful views of course. There was a public bathroom (my friend needed to go as soon as we got there), but it's locked. It so happened that a man came out of the ?storage area in the same little building and he had the access card. It sounded like he works in multiple park areas, but he wasn't in a uniform or anything. So we got lucky, otherwise there would've been nowhere to go that I could see. Lots of dogs on leashes. I wouldn't provoke the geese - it's their territory!”

“This beach is so beautiful. We like to park in the designated areas. There's a public porter potty and a faucet we can use. There's also a nice big grassy field before making it to the beach with picnic benches. It's the perfect place to eat and hangout using a blanket. The sand is very fine here. The waves were calm and we were surrounded by mountains. Highly recommend coming here for the sights and to just have a relaxing beach day away from crowds. Always clean up after yourself and don't forget to comb over your spot to make sure you have all of your possessions and trash. Trash bins are located by the porter potty. Please respect the land.”

“When adults and teens could have their own ‘playground’ a.k.a the sports area, the park is 5 stars for me. Loved the sports area!! But I hope the city will build more courts, as one volleyball and basketball won’t be enough on warmer days. Also, maybe the park would make lower park and upper park connected with cars in the future, it’s gonna be better to enjoy the entire area.”

“Ehukai Beach Park is the home of the world famous Banzai Pipeline and probably the most famous surf spot on the North Shore. It’s a long wide beach connected to Sunset Beach. It’s a little hard finding the beach if you’re not familiar with the area. There’s a parking lot or parking along Kamehameha highway. Luckily it was early enough that we found a spot close to the beach path. Bring what you need…and leave nothing behind. It’s a nice beach to explore! The highlight was watching the surfers do their tricks.”

They actually restored this beach to bring it to its full potential and they were so very proud of it along with being welcoming and kind and telling us about the beach and rabbit island, which you see in the picture.
