“The campground was clean, the bathrooms and trash were well maintained, and most of the trails were open. We stayed at the trail camp, it wasn’t too long, (1/4mi) or difficult, but does have about 10 stairs so plan accordingly. The distance …”

“Nice and peaceful beach walk 🥰 a few other walkers .. very quiet. Easy parking (I took the big rig there with no issues). Returned via Salinas Dune Trail, it goes right along the beach line with views of the farmland and the ocean at the same time 😍 …”

“Pleasant surprise. A wonderful park to walk your leashed dog amongst the tree and brushed line trails above Monterey. Good parking, clean restroom and nice views between the trees of the Monterey Bay and Peninsula. Some rolling hills in dirt trails, with poison oak. Do not recommend wheel chairs or people with limited mobility.”

Cypress Point Lookout
4.7
( 10 reviews )

Monterey, CA 93940, United States

“This has been one of the coolest views to see of a beach, and the cliffs were gorgeous!! Don’t expect to swim at this specific location, but it is part of the 17 mile drive that will make an amazing adventure!”

Moss Landing State Beach
4.6
( 8 reviews )

California 95039, United States

“Beautiful long spread of a beach with a harbor. There are different entry points. It’s perfect for a long jog or walk. There are bathrooms in certain parts of the beach. We come to visit and use the harbor to load kayaks into the water. There are signs that warn of strong current & waves and swimming is not recommended. I swim alot of beaches but never this one. Only experienced surfers venture out. There are many sea animals to watch including seals, otters, dolphins, whales, sharks and birds. There’s nice sand dune vegetation. You can capture a gorgeous sunset here. There’s specific places on the beach you can take your dog because this beach has endangered bird species that breed there spring, summer and fall.”
