“I specifically booked a 90 minute appointment at The Nail Lounge to have my nails filled with someone I felt had more experience. I had a special event that night and I wanted my nails to look good. The morning I arrived at 8:45 for my 9am appointment I was contacted through text by the salon owner, Jennifer. She explained that my technician couldn’t be there due to reasons beyond her control and that a different technician could replace her at 9:30. My appointment went from 9:20 until 10:20, however, I was still charged for 90 minutes, for a poor rushed job. I paid $110. I would’ve said something while I was there but I didn’t get to really look at them until I got home. The chrome on my nails was already chipping on the ends, the French tips weren’t applied to the edges and I could already tell the same day that some were lifting. There is also a black hair under the top coat on my thumb. The person that did my nails was in a clear and obvious rush to leave. The entire experience was unprofessional from the moment I got there right up until I voiced my disappointment with Jennifer. When I contacted Jennifer ( the owner ) to express my dissatisfaction she was defensive and rude. Here is my text to her and Jennifer’s reply, copied and pasted; ME: “Hi Jen. I was charged for an hour and a half and my apt was one hour long and quite honestly felt rushed. I booked with a specific person for a reason. I have a special event tonight. For my prom my apt was also changed to a different day at the nail lounge leaving me scrambling last minute so this isn’t the first time this has happened and quite honestly I’m more than a little disappointed especially considering they were 110 dollars.” JENNIFER: “I checked you were charged 95. Actually Myah undercharged you by mistake with the design you got it should have been 105. as I stated in the message this morning asking you to come 30 minutes late *****’s son is home sick with a really high fever so of course she would’ve preferred to be here to do your nails, but Myah was so kind to rush in on her day off to accommodate your appointment. You certainly were able to say you did not want the appointment and we definitely could’ve cancelled that for you and fortunately things in life happen. Children are sick staff gets sick and we’re left with no choice but to move the technician. it’s never by force you’re always welcome to not take the appointment.” She claimed that I was undercharged and stressed that the technician’s child was very ill, however at no point did she offer to amend my bill to reflect the shorter appointment time, the inconvenience of the last-minute change or the sub-par nails or apologize. This is the second time my appointment was ruined for a special occasion at the nail lounge. The first time was for my prom when I had a similar experience with my appointment being moved. I think it’s important people see Jennifer’s true colours which are clearly reflected in the manner she speaks to me through text while implying that her employee that came in to take another’s place was doing it as some kind of huge favour to me, the paying customer in her salon. I gave Jennifer the opportunity to make things right before moving onto Google reviews however I’m certain she blocked me and that text wasn’t delivered to her”
