“The property was clean and well-located, and the staff, particularly in the breakfast area, were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my AirPods were stolen from my room on the second day of our six-day stay. I reported the incident to the reception desk and provided the GPS location of the AirPods using the FindMy app to aid in the investigation (they were in the outskirts of Guadalajara, far away from the Hotel) The following day, the hotel manager informed me that a member from the cleaning staff had taken my AirPods, claiming to have "found them in the trash" and decided to keep them (the earphones were obviously not in the trash, I don't have the habit of storing expensive gadgets with used tissues and leftovers). I was informed that the thief faced a temporary suspension, and while I did recover my AirPods, the entire ordeal left an sour taste in my mouth. This incident, coupled with the discomfort it caused, led us to opt out of having more staff people coming into our room for cleaning during the remainder of our stay, which was an inconvenience. Our choice of this hotel was influenced by the expectation of avoiding such issues, and this experience fell short of our hopes. Despite the recovery of my property, the inconvenience and disappointment overshadowed what could have otherwise been a satisfactory stay.”

“Great rooms, super clean. Service is sometimes over the top and sometimes short with you, depends on the person and day. Location is nice if you are staying in town and is quiet in the rooms. The driveway is steep tho and one-ways can make it confusing if you are not familiar with it.”

“First, if you are sensitive to chemical smells, then you will be uncomfortable here, possibly nauseated. They put forth great efforts to be clean, but in doing so the chemical smell is very, very heavy in some places. Still in the room but not as heavily. The rooms are smallish but clean. However if you expect hot water you will only get warm water as it appears they put a temperature limit on it. Warm enough for a shower but just warm. Also make sure you have something to cut open the soap packet. The plastic covering they are in proved impossible for me to tear open. Had to cut it with my toenail clippers. Guess I could have used my teeth - ya no thanks. As a business traveler one of the positive things I appreciate is that they have a physical network connection that actually works! Far more reliable and faster than the wireless, so whoever decided to do that at this property - thank you! The staff is really good, very friendly. I have to give it three stars due to the very troubling heavy chemical smell.”

“I’ve stayed at this hotel a half a dozen times over the last few years. It’s super close to the commercial district and it’s a great choice for singles or couples. It’s close to La Katrina (live music venue) though, so they provide earplugs in case you head to bed early. The music shuts off at about 11pm.”

Went on a UTV ride that they offer and the helmets were still wet with other people's sweat and reeked so bad I almost threw up. The manager refused to come out and confront me. “We had the most amazing two nights at La Valise. We switched rooms for the second night due to the La terraza room only being available for the first night but loved the second room just as much if not more! Bath tub on the deck and a bed that rolled out was so cool. The staff are so amazing and made the experience even better- shout out to Elizabeth and Benjamin who are so welcoming and attentive. They made the experience as special as the hotel itself. We will 100% be back! The design, vibe and personal touches made it the most memorable stay and best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Absolutely recommend it!”

“It is a stunning place, people working there are very nice and helpful. There are tree houses and cabin woods. I totally recommend cabin woods if you are coming with people that's hard for them to go around. Since tree houses have a not easy way to get there, but the cabin woods do. I went with my family and the kids loved it, although the water in the pool was cold but they had fun. We needed towels and a pillow and people from the reception brought it all the way down to our tree house, outstanding service. As well, they have a restroom and free water at the reception. It is extremely near to Edwards James garden, you can get there in a just 5 minute walk. In this place there is nothing else to do than sitting back, enjoy nature and relax. There was a group of teenagers having a party at the pool which made it a bit noisy, but thankfully they finished around 7pm which was okay. The reason why I gave 3 stars to the rooms is because the strainer at the restroom in our treehouse was extremely smelly. Out of that all was good.”

“This could have been 5 stars. Hotel is clean, staff is attentive and breakfast was good. However, half way through the stay they asked us to move to another room because they were planning to do maintenance to the floor where we were on. When asked why did they put us in that room in the first place if maintenance was planned, they couldn't answer. I asked them to wait until we checked out but they refused. Obviously an inconvenience for us that the hotel could have avoided if they planned ahead. Shame because it could have been a very nice stay.”
