“We came to this hotel after spending a few days in Porto, so the quiet seclusion was perfect for us. It was so relaxing to be able to easily park our rental car and have the staff take complete care of us - from booking our Quinta visit, to a welcome port reception with cheese and meats, as well as additional welcome drinks, they had everything under control for us. Telmo at the library bar was such a delight to talk with, we didn’t even realize we kept him past closing time! During our stay, we hardly saw other people. It was just what we needed to recharge before we head back to the busy city of Porto. It started getting busier on our check out day as they are doing renovations to some of the rooms. But I loved our stay here. The art was a really really nice touch. We spent hours looking at all of it.”

“The best hotel in Ponta Delgada. We were stopping by this island for one day and best choice we made. Beautiful clean room and luxurious bedding. Hotel staff are all friendly and professional . What a great location! 8 min from the airport and you can walk to the major town with restaurants and shopping. Ours came with the breakfast buffet and food was really good. As we leave early to the airport, they prepared coffee bar with pastry, just for us. Valet parking is only $12 . Value is incredible and we really had an amazing time. Highly recommend this hotel.”

“Beautiful hotel with lovely staff. We stayed 3 nights in a two bedroom cottage. It was a peaceful stay. We used the mountain bikes and had a fun day riding the property but I was surprised they were in such bad condition. I wouldn’t suggest coming here if biking is your goal. If you want to relax in a peaceful setting with beautiful architecture and interiors, then this is the place.”

Everyone was welcoming, warm, genuine, efficient & professional. Service was excellent from all members of staff. I celebrated my 60th birthday during my stay & the hotel could not have been more thoughtful & kind, making it very special for me with complimentary wine & birthday cake & candles. You feel like you are in a very warm cocoon, the modern conversion from an old bakery, respectively nodding to it's past in a very sensitive way. We just loved it. I especially loved my swim in the infinity pool the morning of my birthday. Thank you everyone!”

“It must have been fantastic in its day but now it's musty, rundown, and showing it's age. The staff are fantastic though and the pool area is beautiful. If you stay in summer, head up to the Museo de Electricidade. There's a river beach area that will blow you away. Take lunch and spend the day.”

“Rooms are clean, big, with a nice view. With good facilities and amenities. Safe, refrigerator, and coffee bar are included. The bathroom includes bidet. Staff are nice and helpful. There is a welcome drink for guests. Breakfast is very good, including British and northern Europe Breakfast. You can find champagne in breakfast. The breakfast restaurant is on the 3rd floor, which gives you a great view from sea and mountain. The dinner restaurant and bar is in the area of the hotel. Hotel has parking. It's accessable for people using wheelchair. From a location point of view, you probably need to have a private car. It's not in downtown.”

“The most frustrating hotel experience I’ve ever had. Human fluids on the sheets, cobwebs, stained carpet on the hallway outside, and negligent customer service. If this was a 3-star hotel, I wouldn’t mind if they changed the sheets, said I’m sorry, and called it a day. But it’s “5 stars”, right? Changing dirty sheets is the very bare minimum. It should be an obligation, not a favor. But the hassle of it all, having to complain, waste time on this issue. And no, they didn’t go out of their way to provide any kind of comp or amenity whatsoever. If you’ve booked this through a credit card partnership program and expect to get an upgrade, they will always say they don’t have it. The credits cannot be used for the spa or laundry either, you will be better off somewhere else. We won’t be coming back. Edit: The sheets were changed promptly thanks to the person who was there during the late night shift. But the attempts below were only given after I, as a customer, went out of my way and complained 3 times. At that point, I’m sorry, but we are a couple traveling without kids. Having more beds is not useful. Appreciate the effort but did not change my opinion.”

“Fabulous spot literally right on the wall, and a 1 min walk from the castle. Right across the street from a great all day cafe, and just down from a few restaurants. We opted for the biggest room with the terrace and it was worth every penny! The staff were lovely and breakfast was fine too. You can drive and park right next to it after a bit of a tricky drive through the castle. Wish we'd stayed another night!”

“Amazing place in Lisbon, so so so clean and comfy, staff so friendly and welcoming! Metro station super near, lots of shops, restaurants and supermarkets around. Great barber around the corner too (€4.50 for a haircut!!!) Everything was perfect, they even had a room where we could leave our luggage after our stay. Stayed for 2 nights but wish I could stay longer and will definitely be back! Great value for money.”

“Location is a bit dodgy if I am honest. Walking from the metro to the hotel you pass plenty of hobos and dive bars. Service wise, all the staff were amazing. The room was clean and comfortable, but for some mould stains in the bathroom. Early check-in is not available, to my disappointment, however reception is more than happy to take your bags whilst you burn some hours until check-in.”

“Overall a good hotel, with good amenities and spacious rooms. The staff were also helpful and nice. All was very clean, from room to sheets and towels. The location is very quiet but still quite close to Nazare/Alcobaca (by car). There are some points that still need improvements: no proper ventilation system, hence a lot of humidity from the bathroom use / rooms are a bit gloomy, even with all lights turned on / the heating system seemed to be preset at 20 degrees (it's true we didn't ask at the reception about its settings).”

“When we arrived we were greeted by a very unwelcoming woman, who after we checked in and had had questions about places to see and asked if she had any recommendations, she was totally unhelpful! We arrived at out room, which was done very cheaply., although very beautiful setting. We took the train to another town for dinner since there was no options in or around the hotel, and were told by hotel to call from train station and no one answered as we called many times. We had to find our way back. When we returned to our room , wanted to take a bath, and there was no hot water. I would not recommend this hotel. The only positive thing I can say about it was the setting is beautiful.”
