“We are returning guests and as with the previous visit, the hotel is amazing! The staff are terrific and very helpful. We had a great room looking out to one of the side 'lanes' and the room was immaculate as were both bathrooms. The only request we would recommend is perhaps another staff member to help with the breakfast service but this is a minor detail. The location is like being part of a film set, truly stunning! Being such great value, this hotel is a must for those wanting to be in the heart of the eternal city of Rome. Thank you all again. Patrick & Sasha”

“This is such a brilliant hotel! Perfectly located amongst loads of bustling restaurants and bars, and within easy walking distance to Rome's main tourist hot-spots. Yet the hotel is quiet and peaceful, tucked away down a side road, and enjoys lovely gardens, which we sat out in for breakfast, despite it being the end of November. The staff here are fabulous - from the lovely people in reception to the breakfast and bar staff -- all are so friendly and welcoming. We had a good laugh with everyone, it is such a happy place. Our room was kept spick and span by the housekeepers -- everything was perfect! We are planning our next trip to Rome -- it is such an amazing city -- and we will definitely be staying at the Hotel Santa Maria again.”

“The hotel is easy to get to from Roma Termini. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was quite large for an Italian hotel and the bathroom was very modern. Breakfast is not a buffet, but served. My scrambled eggs were very good. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as an excellent place ro stay.”

“Very friendly and welcoming staff. Check in/out process efficient and smooth. Rooms very clean, well appointed, and beds comfortable. The breakfast was top notch with a wide choice. The location is excellent, you are within walking distance to all the major attractions and restaurants. The only downside is that there is only one lift/elevator which can be slow at the busy periods if you are on the upper floors but it is an old building with plenty of charm so it is understandable. We would most definitely return.”

“Just got back from a lovely stay at Hotel Locarno, We booked as a late break away and so did not read reviews or research the hotel, when we arrived we were surprised at how close the hotel was to the promenade , the hotel is situated in an ideal spot with metro stations just around the corner to commute around the city or walk along the promenade. The Hotel is clean and well looked after and the staff were all friendly and helpful, our room had a balcony where we could sit and watch the sun rise and fall and look out onto the streets below with a view of the sea. The bathroom was large with a large walk in shower, and room equipped with tea/coffee making facilities. The beds were changed and made daily and bed very comfortable. I would definitely reccomend the hotel to friends and family and hopefully will return soon.”

“We had an excellent stay at Kolbe Hotel for Christmas! The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was delicious and very high quality! We had drinks at the bar some nights and found the bartender to be very knowledgeable and skilled. The hotel is also in a fantastic location. We had a great few of ruins at the Palatine Hill right outside our window. Travel to must-see landmarks was quick and easy by foot meaning we never felt like we had to go far to find something interesting to visit. Thanks to the staff at the hotel for a wonderful stay and making our Christmas in Rome something special that we will always remember!”

“The staff were always so helpful, professional, and kind! They gave us recommendations on a nice/authentic Italian restaurant when we didn't know where to start looking for them. The room and room service were always kept up and beautiful!! It had everything we needed/wanted and more. We got room service one night and the food was delicious. Our package came with breakfast included and it was always so fresh and good as well. This hotel has a rooftop bar - it's also where they serve the breakfast. Beautiful outlook of the city! The location is smack dab in the center of all main attractions in Rome. Everything was walking distance. If you're between this hotel and another, CHOOSE THIS ONE. You won't regret it.”

“This place is truly a pleasant place to be and it’s location is perfect for exploring the many ancient hilltop villages within an hours drive away. The room was modern and perfect and the food was very good indeed! There are certain restaurants that produce food that is obviously more than just food. “Wondeful hotel. Really recommend to any travellers to Rome. The breakfast buffet has a large variety. The hotel rooms are clean and well kept. Everything is made in Italy. Staff are very nice and helpful! Overall no complaints. Be aware, the hotel is in the Jewish Ghetto which you cannot access by car. It is very safe however, during my visit I observed there is tons of police.”

Location is also very good - walking distance from main attractions, with a tube station close by. One thing I didn’t like is noise. When in the room we could hear everything from the hallway, and almost everything from the room next to us. Not a great experience when you try to relax after a long day and there is a family with screaming kids behind the wall, or you are weaken up by a slamming door.”

“The staff at the reception were very helpful. They called taxis for us and gave us water refills every morning at the bar. The room was a very nice size and had really comfortable beds. The hotel is 20 minutes from the Spanish steps and close to the Coloseeum. Be aware, the elevator has a feature where the light turns off if you do not open the door correctly - the elevator is not broken, do not panic like me, you just have to push the correct handle to get out. This is different than American elevators which will slide open when you get to the correct floor and close on their own. I would definitely stay here again.”
