“We've just returned from staying at this lovely hotel. Situated in the old town, and tucked away in a little passageway, there is very little noise to disturb you from outside. The building has been modernised in a way that gives the guests the luxury required and still retaining some character of the original building. Very comfortable lounge area and lots of seating provided on other floors. The room was very clean, nicely decorated with incredibly comfortable beds. The only reason I'm not giving the room a five star rating is because, in my opinion, one thing let them down. The shower area (shower over bath) had quite a lot of mould in the grouting. Apart from that one thing our entire visit was thoroughly enjoyable, with very friendly reception staff available for any queries gusts might have. Thank you for a great experience!”

“Total scam of a resort! Stay away, especially if you’re foreign. They charged my credit card without consent. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OVER THE INTERNET! They stole 150 euro from my bank account after I accidentally booked a stay, then realized they were hundreds of miles away, then immediately canceled the room. After getting an email saying I wouldn’t be charged, they charged me. Ridiculously fraudulent charge that I’ll be disputing with Visa as soon as I get back to the US.”

“I was walking the Camino and needed a full rest day, so I decided to stay in this hotel for two nights, rather than in an albergue. It was great to have a private room. This hotel is located to the east of downtown Burgos, in a quiet neighborhood. It is a short walk to the river and then along the river to downtown. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was super clean, as was the modern bathroom. I had breakfast both mornings in the hotel. There was an ample selection.”

“We stayed for 2 nights in what is now part of the Galician Alda Hotel Group. This beautiful Art Deco building is situated right in the centre of Zamora opposite the Central Market and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. The rooms are comfortable and atractively decorated. I hardly ever wear a tie these days but was amused to find a complete tie rack in the bedroom cupboard (see photo!). The staff are charming and helpful. Breakfast in the basement is a rather peculiar affair which has been contracted out. Recommend one of the two cafés on the market square which make their own 'churros' and serve good coffee at half the price.”

“If like me, you like checking into hotels (I actually do it as a hobby) the La Mota is by far and away, the place for you. I'd already been forewarned by email, that I would simply just have to provide my name at reception, whereon I would be given my room key. I dislike this kind of efficiency if I'm honest, and was hoping that check in would be a fiasco of Fawlty Towers-esque proportions. We turned up rather late at 23:40, and I was excited to learn that there'd been a policy change. The check-in procedure went as follows.... 1. Go to check in. 2. Wait twenty minutes for Receptionist to appear. 3. Give her your passport. 4. Get directed to automated check in machine. 5. Go back to Receptionist to get check in code, which is completely different to the one on the email. 6. Go back to machine, and enter details. 7. Get charged an extra 10€, despite having previously paid for the room in full. 8. Discover machine has run out of key cards. 9. Go back to Check in desk, to tell the Receptionist. 10. Receptionist refills the machine. 11. Obtain key card. 12. Go back to Receptionist to claim 10€ which is given to you in cash. 13. Go to room. Despite the hotels best efforts, we were in our room by 00:30. However one of our party struck gold, and didn't receive his key card until 01:30, almost two hours after entering the hotel. The check-in experience was everything I'd wish for, exciting, chaotic and unpredictable. All in all, it's a ten out of ten from me. Wonderful.”

Poor, common areas, stairs, reading room, living room, and backgrounds...requiring a vacuum cleaner, soap and water. It would be positive to change the cleaning staff or teach them how to do it. It is a place of 10 but that detail lowers their quality, a lot.”

Didn't have time to visit the attached winery but the wine we chose for dinner was perfect. Not a huge dinner menu but we'll cooked & presented. Good choice at buffet breakfast though still being set up when we arrived at opening time as we had a ferry to catch. Would certainly use hotel again. Reception staff friendly & helpful.”
