“TLDR: Not worth it, there are a lot of other hotels in the area that are likely better. It looks like a nice hotel in pics but there are many critical shortcomings. The biggest pro is the view. Pros: - The view is great. - Morning reception staff was friendly, except for the breakfast host. - The lobby and bar areas looks nice. - Plenty of easy parking. Cons: - Rude staff at night (morning staff was nice) - WiFi didn’t work. - Bathtub and jacuzzi didn’t work. - Bathroom outlets didn’t work. - Bathroom floor got wet because the shower door was broken and there was no floor mat. - Paper thin walls - Mini fridge didn’t work / was empty. - Bedroom rug and floor was dirty. - Hallways were dirty - Breakfast was low quality ingredients and mostly super salty unhealthy foods. Other details: - The hotel is at the top of the mountain and if you’re not familiar with the area it may be a difficult drive. Some of the roads to the top (from Colvinhã) are poorly maintained. - The host said they gave us one of their better rooms. If that was a good room then I imagine the others must be pretty bad. 😬”

“On arrival to this hotel in the small city of Belmonte, the hotel looks good on the outside. Once we walk in the reception area is quiet nice as well. Lets say what starts putting you down is the reception. I felt that the costumer service has a lot to improve. The rooms are okay and the views are really good as well. Let’s say what saves the hotel is definitely the breakfast which is really good. Now to be real the 4 star is extra for the hotel.”

“This restaurant came recommended from the woman at that worked in the souvenir shop at the castle. It is right outside of the castle. There was an old distillery there at one time. It is now out of commission but the equipment remains inside. The outdoor patio is lovely and shaded with walnut trees. Unfortunately, we couldn’t eat out there. However we had a glass of wine before eating in the dining area. The black pork was good as was the shrimp omelette.”

“Such an amazing place! The yurt is so cozy and comfy. The hosts are welcoming and helpful. You can tell they care so much about the animals. Joana is like a Disney princess, the animals love her so much! 10/10 would visit again!”
