“My husband, my 2 teens and I have just stayed for 1 night in this hotel. It is will well located in downtown Baton Rouge near restaurants and bars. The staff was very helpful. We would like to thank Willemina in charge of Breakfast . She was amazing, and provided an outstanding service. She was very helpful, professional and kind. I will recommend 100% this hotel.”

“Hotel is convenient to Lafayette area. Rooms are large, have a modern feel and are complete with medium sized refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. There were a few minor issues with the room that management addressed promptly. The dark shades the room was equipped with allowed zero light in, and is great for those that work odd hours. The rooms aren't insulated the best, so hallway and upper floor noise is prevalent at times. Breakfast food is actually pretty good --ranging from ham and cheese croissants to yogurt to breakfast bowls. There are alot of food and shopping options close by. Would definitely stay here again.”

“Arrived after a 14 hour drive. Diamond at the front desk was kind, gracious and hospitable. The double room suite was just what we needed for our large family. It was clean and bright. The hallways are modern and up to date. The rooms could use a bit updating but nothing that affected our stay.”

“No Way! We were in town during the Sugar bowl. Stay closer to the French Quarter, or out in the suburbs. This hotel is in a residential neighborhood, not close to anything. If you're thinking of riding the Trolley on St, Charles - good luck. It's crowded and stops way too often. The hotel is overpriced, dated, dirty and the rooms are too small. You have to step outside your room to change your mind. I'm a Diamond Hilton member and I travel for business too. Since COVID 80% of the hotels I used to stay in have cleanliness issues. I'm talking other peoples hair in the bathroom and bedding, stains in the tub, faulty showerheads and mold in the bathroom caulk. This bathroom was tiny, gross and checks all the other boxes too. Then there's breakfast. Mrs. Molasses that runs the food service and her merry elves are incompetent. I realize things were busy with the Sugar bowl in town, but they knew all this in advance and still couldn't figure out the inventory and workflow. Duh. They ran out of food every morning we were there and it took 20 min to re-supply. Then you'd get biscuits, but no gravy, eggs, but no OJ - one morning the biscuits were frozen in the middle, etc... What happens for Mardi Gras? There will be 10 times the people in town for that event, over the Sugar Bowl. This can't be their first rodeo! I realize the service industry continues to suffer from labor shortages since COVID; however, there are hotels (Hilton, Marriott, etc...) out there that succeed at providing awesome customer service. This isn't one of them!”

“We stayed there almost a month ago and really liked the room and atmosphere. The registrar went out of her way to get a nice room that fit two senior citizens. Breakfast was way better than might be expected and all the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We plan to try and stay there again in about a week from now. Highly recommended.”

“BLUF: I stayed at this hotel for last night with my pet and the experience was fantastic. I highly recommend it and is now my #1 choice in the future. More detailed review below. Service: The woman at the front desk was incredibly professional, pleasant to interact with, and answered all of the questions I had. Rooms: The hotel and room was clean, no issues. The bed and pillows are comfortable enough for a side sleeper (a big deal for those of you who commonly wake up with back pain when staying at a hotel.) Location: I didn’t stay long enough to explore the location, but there are gas stations and, most importantly, a Raising Canes a few minutes away from the hotel. I didn’t experience any safety issues both in and outside of the hotel.”

“Once I was in my room the satellite would not connect and the room phone was not working. I had to use my cell phone to call down about the two issues. Was told maintenance would be at my door within 5 minutes. 15 minutes later (I hadn’t unpacked yet till the satellite issue was resolved and phone) so I called from my cell phone again she said that she would go get him. He knocked in the door mumbled something about the satellite he jiggles the wires it then went through a reboot. He stated the phone would need to be serviced through an outside company? I went to the front desk the next morning spoke with a front desk associate expressed that I have Acute asthma that I would feel safer with a working phone. I stayed from Monday - Friday. I checked the phone Friday morning to see if it was working and it was. So why did I not have a working phone. Also at one time there was a microwave and fridge during past stays at this property. I asked at the front desk wasn’t told when I checked it that the rooms were being renovated and that the microwave and fridge were moved to the “city” view. The other side was going through renovation. I asked if the fridge and microwave were being removed for the future and she said yes. The rooms looked so bare not even an alarm clock. This is a Hilton property? I’ve stayed at this property many years and this time I could see the decline in the hotel. I will not be back as a lifetime Diamond member. I was not treated as a loyal Hilton Honors guest. Plus my health is not important to have a working phone. By the way I checked the phone before I left the room there was a dial tone for the first time.”

“My son and I went to see his best friend graduate Winter of 2023. Had seen the Cook hotel many times working on campus and wanted to treat my son to a authentic LSU experience. Everything was great from the front desk to breakfast in the morning and could not have been more conveniently located.”

“The location was excellent. The room was fine; met all needs. The desk staff was horrible; lazy, uninformative; begrudgingly willing to even talk to you. Room staff was great, quite the opposite. Hotel suggests they have a bar; they don’t. They have full bottles to sell. They also comp absolutely nothing; everything is an up charge. Despite the convenience of the location, unlikely to stay here again.”

“We arrived 30 min before official "check in" time and asked the gentleman if it was okay to check in early -- he enthusiastically said yes, our room was ready. The room is cute and modern. My ONLY complaint about the room was the shower pressure and noise BUT if you leave your TV on low, it gets rid of a lot of the other guests noise (walking in the hall/etc). There are two sets of stairs that lead you outside (get back in with your room keycard) AND an elevator. We utilized the stairs a lot-- especially for smoke breaks. This place was close enough to everything to enjoy but not close enough to deal with the raging partying noise that goes on. The employees of the restaurant next door are nice (met them on 'smoke breaks') as well as the staff at the hotel. There are some homeless in the area (as any city has)-- just be very respectful of everyone---they didn't bother us. We donated rain covers and umbrellas on our last day (as we wouldn't need them anymore). All the employees were super friendly at the hotel--- the gentleman with the long braids at night (HIYA!!!) and the older gal during the day.....both welcoming and a riot to talk to!! You wont need to bring shampoo/etc because there are pump bottles inside the bathrooms. Literally, anything you need, ask.”

“We stayed here in November and loved it. So, we decided to book here again. This time was even better. And that’s all because of Donald who works at the front desk. We had an issue with third-party booking and Donald would not give up until he accommodated us. He was very kind, professional, patient, and helpful. All of those qualities go along way when you deal with the public. I don’t know who decides when Donald gets a raise, but whoever it is, please give it to him ASAP. He is awesome. If it were not for him, we would have left the property. Thanks Donald!”

“I am truly happy for choosing this hotel. The room was beautiful and cosy, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and were just so kind. Everything is well organised and their lobby is beautifully decorated. Air conditioning worked well, it was clean. Great location, short walk from good breakfast - Mother's and the Ruby Slipper, Canal Street and all the iconic restaurants. We will definitely stay with them next time.”

“$15 breakfast with grey eggs and off brand cheerios. Beds are good, bathrooms have water damage and poorly fitted tub, no fan either. If there were any shining example for what US needs more hostel-type establishments, this is it. Seems like there’s just too much going on for the nice people (and the service was great!) who work here to manage effectively (laundry room! business center! restaurant/bar! pool!), and management is trying to get what $ they can out of the place, which is also understandable. Just not the best situation🤷‍♂️”

Hampton Inn Natchitoches

“Had problems with the people at the front desk, right from the start. Bed uncomfortable. Breakfast was nothing to shout at. Not much there. The cinnamon waffles were off the chain. But alas it doesn't make up for everything else being off. You travel over 3 hours and you come to this. The hotel next to the waffle House across the Highway was. 4 stars oh yeah.”

“My experience here was overall a solid 3. When I arrived I was not acknowledged right away. The location of the hotel is good. The room we stayed in was cleaned up okay & l liked the details in the shower. The bed was comfortable. However, the hallway to the room had a funky smell to it. I was very disappointed that the room I stayed at & paid over $100 for, did not include the breakfast. The customer service was better when checking out, mind you it was a different receptionist at the desk.”

We got delayed in our trip so I was able check in with my phone so when we got in at almost 1 I’m the morning we just walked right up to our room. The breakfast was very good it had all the breakfast staples. Staff was super friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. Overall great experience.”
