The distance from the center is not very far, about 5 minutes, and the landscape around the inn is very relaxing, lots of trees, and now in January, even in summer, at night it is nice and cold, with rain and the wind that cuts the forest. Sensational breakfast, served until 11am, and inside the inn area, there is a small trail through the trees.”

“Inn with large private area, with very beautiful nature. We loved the pool. Unfortunately, the inn does not have a cleaning service in the rooms during the stay (no housekeeping, replacement of towels, absolutely NOTHING). The breakfast is simple, with a quality below what we are used to in accommodation in the south of MG. When it comes to hotels, Pousada Serra da Luz, currently, January/2024, leaves something to be desired. The chalet is small and not in good condition (doorknobs, latches, windows, furniture, taps, washbasin, sink, lights flashing quickly out of nowhere... in short, everything needs maintenance). When closed, it has a strong musty smell. At night, we had to sleep with both windows and the chalet's front door open. Luckily for us, it was hot and not raining. With everything closed, staying inside the chalet would be completely unhealthy. In recent years, we have visited numerous tourist cities in the south of Minas Gerais, from Serra da Mantiqueira, Serra da Canastra, Circuito das Águas, Circuito Serras Verdes do Sul de MG, and, finally, the waterfalls in the region just south of Campo das Vertentes (where Luminárias is located). This was, without a doubt, our worst hosting experience. NOTES (after considerations made by the establishment) Edit 1: The evaluation is based on user experience and is primarily intended for the platform's community. Therefore, the provider's disagreement and contestation related to the customer's impressions about a service already performed, in addition to further deconstructing the image that was left, also denotes amateurism in the management of the business. Edit 2: Trying to attribute responsibility to the guest for the lack of replacement of towels over four days of accommodation, or even for the failure to collect the bathroom trash that accumulated in recyclable bags that we left at the chalet door from the 2nd day onwards from our stay until the 4th and final day, is, to say the least, a great reversal of values. THE ABSENCE OF ANY CONTACT on the part of the person paused for the minimum check of the chalet's conditions, especially considering that the inn's reception is COMPLETELY ABANDONED 24 hours a day, confirms the lack of structure and interest in providing good service. In other words, reinforcing the content of the initial evaluation, in terms of hotels, the inn is poor. Edit 3: In the first contact made with the inn by telephone, the FIRST question asked was whether it was a "PET FRIENDLY" establishment, to which the inn's answer was "YES". The negative experience regarding the deplorable conditions of the chalet and the terrible experience throughout the stay has nothing to do with the fact that we took a pet, especially because our dog, in addition to being completely silent and discreet, is completely adapted to traveling and is with us in ALL OUR tourist destinations. As for the allusion to "cleaning up the animal's poop" (what rude vocabulary, argh!), considering that at least you have the capacity and willingness to do that, take advantage of your willingness to collect the various dog waste spread throughout the outside area of the house. hostel, certainly from those same dogs that are scratching themselves to death on the cafeteria carpet at breakfast time (unfortunately, antiparasitics exist to be used and avoid such suffering for the dogs), waste that we need to be aware of on several occasions to we do not step; therefore, our dog's were and will always be collected using the biodegradable bags suitable for this purpose, which we always have at our fingertips. Edit 4: The irony and mockery at the end of the considerations made by the establishment, given to people who barely know who they are, only prove that, in addition to being terrible hosts, they are also terrible human beings.”
