“I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was clean, it had good room service and very friendly staff. Most of them knew english to some degree, so you don't have to worry about not being able to communicate. They are keen to help if there are any problems. This was only once the case with the Wifi and it was managed instantly by the staff. After that the wifi was mostly good. I didn't encounter any other probelms. Therfore I thank the staff for being friendly, helpful and up to the task. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Overall the hotel is very much recommendable, especially because they offer good prices for their rooms. Edit: Döndü hanim helped out a lot with extra wishes regarding room service!”

“I was in Ankara for a week on business at the Days Hotel. This is my honest review. Just I add that for some reason this hotel is ‘by Wyndham’ but the one week point collection stay was not added to my Wyndham rewards membership for some reason unknown to me. Most of the men working at the front desk and breakfast area are smokers. They stand in front of the main entrance smoking and when they walk into the lobby it smells like cigarette smoke. I stayed in Room 306 for a week. The first 2 days, the same song was on repeat in the entire general area and restaurant of the hotel. Butterfly by Maria & Whitney. They might need a new ‘hotel dj”. They did change this after I mentioned it to the lady at reception. Gizem at reception is amazing. She was very helpful with arranging transport, check-in and tourist information. At breakfast there is a fresh open buffet with an Automatic Coffee machine, the machine makes nasty instant bitter coffee and since the day I arrived it was not serviced, I asked the man and lady at the breakfast area why there is no hot chocolate and they said the service man doesn’t show up. That coffee machine needs maintenance service but no one seems to care. The servers offer filter coffee but I prefer and expected a Wyndham group hotel to have espresso type coffees. The butter in the buffet corner sits outside in room temperature without any kind of cooling. As stated on the label, the maximum temperature it should be stored at is 4 Celsius. The breakfast room temperature is about 20 Celsius. The breakfast overall is traditional Mediterranean buffet. It is acceptable for this business hotel. Yeter, the cleaning lady was very intelligent and had common sense. She even organized my cosmetics. The bed, towels and sheets are lovely clean and in good condition. The TV does not have screen casting and barely any English channels so if you want to watch Netflix bring your own HDMI cable and laptop. If you get lucky the WiFi in the hotel room might work. The Wi-fi at this hotel is unstable. As you can see in the photos, you enter your ID # and room #. I had to do this 5-6 times while getting cut off every 2-3 hours each day. In the evenings the wifi is very weak, impossible to have international video calls. At night after 12 the internet connection is completely cut off. I had trouble conducting video calls with the USA and Portugal. Yalin at the night shift reception could not help as he said the internet service man is not available so he could not fix the wifi problem. The reception & lobby (work area) has a completely different wifi system. Obviously the internet gateway company is not good. The Days Hotel claims to be a business hotel but I was disappointed with this wifi internet hassle every day and every night. You can not depend on this hotel for Wifi and internet reliability.”

“Whenever I am in Ankara, I try to stay here. I feel like home. Very warm reception staff. Parking is free as they valet your car. Breakfast is alright. Service is great (except lots of smokers, well, you are in Turkey after all). Building is new but some poor construction shows. Otherwise great location and good clean rooms.”

“October 2023 Fantastic hotel in the heart of the dynamic Kizilay district of Ankara surrounded by hundreds of restaurants, cafés, shops, ATMs. Excellent rooms, smoking rooms are always on the top floors so we had a good street view. They don't have tea/coffee in the room, instead you call up anytime day/night and you can order: Turkish coffee, Nescafe coffee, Turkish tea (çay), or English tea. It's not the highest quality, but it's nice to sip and watch the people going by. The staff are BRILLIANT. They speak relatively good English and gave superb recommendations, directions, and our taxis were waiting every time on the dot. You can take a very easy, pleasant walk to the Atatürk Mausoleum from the hotel. We caught the train to Ankara, and simply caught the Metro straight to Kizilay and walked a few minutes to the Hotel. They stored our bags for free while we took a trip to Malatya and had the same room ready for us when we returned. STRONGLY recommend Lion City Hotel Kizilay.”

“The property has a good location, situated at the heart of a lovely neighborhood and encompassed by numerous cafes and restaurants. However, the rooms were not particularly clean, with a noticeable odor of cigarette smoke and mold. Additionally, we found holes in the bed sheets. Also, there were no elevators. Although the receptionist who checked us in was friendly and helpful, some other staff members displayed rudeness and could benefit from customer service training. The most concerning issue was when a receptionist publicly warned us during the day, with other guests present, due to a complaint from another guest about what we considered normal daytime noise. This warning was delivered impolitely, which was unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable. Firstly, such matters should be discussed privately with the guest, not in front of others. Secondly, it was daytime, and we shouldn't have been warned for regular noise, especially given the hotel's known lack of soundproofing. Lastly, if there was a need to communicate this issue, it should have been done in a more tactful manner, rather than bluntly stating that another guest was considering calling the police. This was a highly disappointing experience, and I would advise avoiding this hotel!!”
