“My husband and I have worked in NYC for 25 years and lived in NYC for 11 years before we moved to Connecticut so we are very familiar with the City and the location of the Draper is very convenient for most attractions. It is close to the subway and is walking distance to Grand Central and Times Square. The rooms are very small but well-appointed and modern. The bed is comfortable. What I was absolutely blown away by was how very clean the room and the bathroom was. Like immaculately clean. And the room was extremely quiet for being in midtown - even the hallway outside our room was quiet - we did not hear doors slamming or people talking and we were very close to the elevators.”

Rooms for the price are adequate though the room we had could certainly do with an update in the bathroom and a closer eye on the dust on surfaces such as windows and plugs and sockets. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff though some of the other staff seemed to prefer to avoid guests requests rather than interact. The attached restaurant serves a very good value breakfast to guests at the weekend for only $13.”

“We stayed here for 3 nights over the New Years weekend. We tried to check in early (our train got in around 1:30 and check in was at 3). They held our luggage and told us they would text when our room was ready. We splurged for a king suite to get some extra space and a view. We were in room 2901. The views were spectacular! Our bedroom was a stunner with floor to ceiling windows across an entire wall and corner. Our balcony had an awesome view of the Empire State Building and even could see a peek of Times Square through the skyline.”

“This darling boutique hotel was perfect for our 2 night stay… we had stayed here in the past & knew we would return! Great location!!!! Reasonable in price compared to others in the area… and the staff is SUPERB!!!! Front desk was always pleasant & helpful, recommended a few great restaurants close! The bellman arranged for a car (same $$$ as Uber but much nicer) scheduled for 7 but he got there a little early, we noticed the breakfast sandwiches delivering, ask the staff if there was anyway they could zap 2 of them for us to have in car… within a few minutes they came out with sandwiches & OJ….WOW!!! Visiting from the Midwest, it is hard to find true hospitality in NY but this hotel is different! We had nothing but kindness from everyone—front desk (thank you Marie), bellman (thanks John). Rooms are a little small (but it’s NY), beds comfy, love the old & new! And yes noises of the street can be heard…. Loved it… the city at its finest!!! We will always stay at this lovely hotel!!”

“I booked this hotel through a 3rd party and thought I’d booked a queen, only to arrive and find out I booked “a queen or 2 doubles”. My husband is 6’3 and can not fit in a double bed. I asked Rosa at the front desk to please help and she advocated for us and worked magic to change our room from a double to queen. Thank you so much Rosa! You were so helpful and fantastic. The hotel itself is beautiful, lots of exposed brick with a great cozy lobby. Bed was very comfortable. Room was quiet. The bathroom was modern with a big shower with a high shower head. Had a great time”

“My wife and daughter stayed there for our Christmas holiday. Everyone was so personal and great. Loved the vibe and the location was spot on. Can't say enough good, from house keeping and more. They even had a Christmas buffet in the bar inclusive to all hotel guests. It was such a nice gesture and I do believed everyone loved it!! The rooms, depending, are small but have everything you need. My family travels from Georgia and usually we stay in the Columbia Circle area The LudLow is now our go to hotel. The lower east side is where it's at. Can't wait until our next visit.”

“Incredibly loud, but most of the staff was super friendly and the rooms were clean. Felt very dated but not run down. Breakfast worked but wasn’t fantastic. Beds were comfortable. No TV channels but that’s not a big deal. My sink faucet was leaking like crazy all over the floor and the first words out of the front desk lady’s mouth was about my security deposit and asking me how I broke it. Made me mad. Everyone else was very nice and helpful though. My only other real complaint is the noise. All night long. Not sure if it’s because of a lack of insulation or what but this room was 10x noisier than the Hampton over in the Financial District. I didn’t sleep at all and it kinda ruined the following day. Nearest subway station is 6 blocks or so away and there’s nothing except the bridge close by. This hotel definitely isn’t worth the cost and I doubt I’ll be back. Too dated, too loud, and too inconvenient.”

“This hotel was gorgeous and the quality/service was incredible! My wife and I came to NYC for a family celebration and spent our weekend here. The rooms were spacious and the beds were quite comfy. All staff members we interacted with were friendly and helpful. They provided us with delicious restaurant recommendations (highly recommend the Monkey Bar attached to the hotel if you can get a reservation) and set up reservations for when we arrived. They were also more than accommodating with our arrival and departure schedules when plans shifted around some. I should also note that the whole hotel is furnished with beautiful French antiques and florals which really add to the charm of the experience. The location of the hotel was also wonderful. So many shops! There are also lots of delicious restaurants only a few blocks away, and if you are up for a little longer walk, you can easily get to Time Square and Broadway The hotel also offers a complementary breakfast which later turns into a snack/coffee/tea room. We found the breakfast was more than substantial with yogurts, pastries, and some other options. It was great when we were in a hurry one morning, but also great when we were having a relaxing morning with tea/coffee before heading out for brunch. It was an amazing weekend and I will absolutely be coming back next time I am in NYC.”

“We stayed here to move our daughter in to her dorm, location was perfect. The staff is very accommodating and gracious. The only drawbacks were no ice machine, had to ask front desk for that, no in room coffeemaker, no fridge, no microwave. But the hotel staff was extremely helpful and gracious with every little request we made, no matter how trivial like getting coffee for us at all hours. The rooms were spacious and clean, but a bit dated. Beds extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows and linens. Didn’t notice much sound traffic as we were on the first floor away from facing the street. There’s a little deli/grocery right next door which made getting things like drinks and other travel stuff very convenient. Really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay here again at this price point.”

“Our stay at this hotel in the heart of New York City was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided outstanding service, making us feel right at home. All the staff was very attentive, especially for those of us traveling with kids. The suite was beautiful, and the hotel's location couldn't have been better. “I must admit, I am perplexed as to how the 11 Howard is rated as a 5-star hotel. While the service and location were commendable, I found the overall experience to be far from what one would expect from a hotel of such high rating. One of the major disappointments was the cleanliness of the room. The carpet was riddled with disgusting stains, which immediately gave a negative impression upon entering the room. It is disheartening to see such a lack of attention to detail in maintaining the cleanliness of the rooms. Furthermore, the bathroom was disappointingly tiny. It felt cramped and uncomfortable, making it difficult to enjoy a relaxing shower or even move around comfortably. To make matters worse, the shower water pooled and wouldn’t drain properly, even after requesting maintenance to fix the issue. No one wants to stand in a pool of soap scum while they are bathing ESPECIALLY in a 5 star hotel. This lack of attention to basic maintenance is unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be 5-star. Overall, my 5-night stay at 11 Howard was the worst experience I have had at a supposed 5-star hotel. The lack of cleanliness of the room, left a lasting negative impression. While the service and location were commendable, they were the only aspects that remotely resembled a 5-star experience. I hope that 11 Howard takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements to provide a truly 5-star experience for their guests in the future.”
