“Booked an afternoon tea and shown to a table right in the doorway. We placed our order, and our sandwiche/cake selection was brought to the table way before the refreshments, we had finished the sandwiches and two cakes before it arrived. The sandwiches were pre-made, and you could tell they'd been kept in the fridge. The cakes were okay, nothing special. We had used a voucher we'd been given for this visit, but if I'd paid for this, I would have complained. Lovely location, but overpriced for what you get, so disappointed.”

“I particularly liked the green vegetation that surrounds Woodland Grange and the little rabbit that kept hopping around. There are coffee stations at several locations on the ground floor where you can grab a quick tea/coffee and a piece of cookie, cake and other confectionery so there is no issue with hunger when you are at the reception or using any of the meeting rooms. This is quite commendable. The room was quite spacious, facilties include pressing iron, ironing board, hair dryer and tea/coffee facilities. There were no complimentary bottles of water, though you could grab one for free at the bar. Meals were of average quality in my opinion”

“From the moment you arrive you see how beautifully smart the hotel is. You are greeted by the most down to earth, kind and genuinely happy staff. The walk way/ grounds are beautiful. It is genuinely one of the most dog friendly places I have ever stayed. The room is beautiful and clean and spacious. The food was outstanding. Me and my partner said multiple times you can tell the staff are happy working here. There is a really pretty walk around the golf course for your dog. The check in and out process was very easy. I would stay here over and over again”

“This hotel is a classic example of a lovely building which looks nice but not worth the money. All the fixtures and fittings are half complete or put in wrong, the food looks nice but is badly prepared. The staff are nice but have absolutely no experience and aren't properly trained. The white wine was warm and the red wine was actually hot. The breakfast was unpleasant and made from cheap ingredients (burnt eggs, cheap beans and frozen hash browns) and you don't get to stay in the building itself, rather the annex buildings adjacent. Was hoping for an upmarket stay but this place disappointed at every turn. Not the staffs fault, most of them look to be still in school, rather management trying to charge a lot but cut corners. Feels like a mediocre hotel in Bangkok rather than a good hotel near the cotswolds”

“Started off badly. The room we were given (42) smelled , the walls had been badly repaired and painted over and the shower was so hot on even the coolest setting I could barely get under it. They changed the room for us in a blink. Made me wonder if others had complained before. We were upgraded to a much larger room 47. Lots of space but the bed was two connected, not a genuine king or double. It was very clean , the bed was comfortable. The place is a little dated but has good parking right in front and no noise. This may have earned it three stars but I have lifted it as the restaurant was a pleasant surprise . The food was a little expensive but portion sizes were good and the food very tasty. The breadcrumbs prawn starter was to die for. We have family that might need to stay here, they will like it. Breakfast in the morning was a little limited. Others do it better, but there was enough.”

“We had a lovely weekend here, the hostel has everything we needed: café for hot drinks; a bar for an evening drink; a restaurant for hearty dinners; a lounge with board games and books; a small (slightly grubby) self-catering kitchen. We enjoyed the modern bathroom facilities and the vegetarian options in the restaurant. Every single member of staff we spoke to was friendly and helpful, without exception. We were given useful advice about going in to Stratford and decided to walk as the bus is not reliable. It's an easy pavement walk, which took 40 minutes. This hostel is in a beautiful, old building, but some adaptations have been made to improve access: there's a ground floor bedroom; the path from the car park to the front door is flat ; there's no step at the front door; there's a ramp to the bar and restaurant; the tables are well-spaced.”
