“The room, lobby and hallway was nice and clean. The heater system didn’t work. It seems like they have some automatic energy saver set up. The system would start, would not blow hot air and then shut off. It’s February and very cold in the room. The pressure in the shower wasn’t strong enough. Bed were comfy. There was not enough staff to bring up blankets. I had to go fetch them myself in the middle of the night. Would I stay here again. I’d probably search other places before I choose this place.”

“Everyone that works in the hotel is amazing. I stayed this weekend there for my son's tournament. The lady that serves the breakfast is rude. Something must of happen this pass Sunday because breakfast was horrible. IT Was 9am no oatmeal scrabbled eggs,fruit or muffins. I took my son to Burger King to get breakfast not something that I wanted to do since breakfast was included. Other than that the Staff is amazing 👏”

“Positives first: The pillows were great!! The sheets were good. The room was neat and clean. The rest of the bed linens looked and felt cheap. The mattress was adequate but not exactly comfortable. Overall, the bed was adequate but disappointing. The door to my room was literally bent at the bottom. The door needed a little extra pressure from the inside to close and a sustained shove to engage the deadbolt. (photo & video) I booked the room both last-minute and late at night and this may have been a factor in the preparation of my room. The air smelled stale. Low temps hit 32° that night and I had to manually turn on the heat. The towels were thin. In the shower were 2 bottles of conditioner, 1 bottle of shampoo, and no soap/body wash. (photo) I notified the front desk at checkout and some comment or question about the ability to call and have it changed was made by the clerk. I don't think it was meant to be rude and I wasn't offended, but it indicates real ignorance and a failure to process feedback from this guest. Scrambled eggs & plain omelettes were served together at the same breakfast buffet. Literally the same food in different shapes. Why? (photo) Both turkey and pork sausage were also served and I respect legitimate and common dietary reasons to offer an alternative to pork sausage. As of 01/08/2024, a printed notice regarding roof work references a 2-3 wk project expected to begin 11/01/2023 and was still posted. (photo) The project is still in progress.”

The breakfast in the morning was great where the receptionist gave their guests special attention as well. The restaurant food was very good as well. Highly recommend staying here specially if you are visiting the wineries since its only 20min drive from here.”

“Extremely difficult to get hold of this resort via any channel. I had a question about checking in late and called at least three times and messaged without getting any feedback. I took my chance and went there and as I started getting automated notification of check in process looked like I could get in late. I wish they had answered me and stress me given they are so far into long Island to find out something you wanted is not available or possible. Their communication was very well organized after that and was able to find my room and get in. The room is just as pictured and perfect. The room has heating and cooling which is perfect. The view is marvelous and the sound of the ocean outside is just majestic. The hotel is few steps from the sandy beach which is again a great plus. I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely return.”

“Location couldn’t be better. Just a block walking from the beach and right in downtown Montauk. This boutique hotel I have been staying at the past 2 years and absolutely love it. The rooms are always clean and the parachute sheets add just a special touch that makes the bed so cozy to sleep in on summer and winter nights. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant across the street also serves the best breakfast. I will always stay at Daunts.”

“this is honestly such a nice spot for the price. the bed was comfortable. the area was nice. staff were accommodating and pleasant. i would absolutely stay here again. the only thing for me, which doesn’t change my star rating, is the small size of the bathroom. i’m a bigger guy so that was a bit tough but i made it work and it doesn’t take away from the rest of the establishment”

“Great views! Make sure to get a unit on the 2nd floor for the best views. Units are owned and rented out so each are different. We liked having a kitchen, especially with kids around. It is not like a traditional hotel where housekeeping just comes in every day. The resort office texts you in the morning a housekeeping form with questions about specific needs, like do you need to replace towels? Linens? Whatever you ordered will be delivered in a bag and dropped off at your door. You put your dirty towels and trash outside your door for housekeeping to pick up.”

“I had my wedding this past weekend on the East Wind property. I stayed in the hotel the next before and night of my wedding. When I returned home after, I noticed that my Airpod's were missing. They were stolen out of my hotel room and I was able to track them to an address that I do not recognize. The only people that had access to my room besides myself and my husband was the hotel staff. When I called to speak to the manager the day that I noticed they were missing and no one was there so they told me that someone would call me first thing in the morning. I had to call at almost 11am today to finally speak to someone. The general manager told me that there was nothing she could do until she spoke to her insurance company because there is no employee there living at that address. She told me she would call me within the hour after speaking to her insurance company. She told me to file a police report but I explained to her that I cannot because I live in a different state. All I wanted was to be reimbursed for the $240 I had to pay to get new airpods after having mine stolen from my hotel room. After 4 hours I had still not heard anything so I had to call back. She told me that there is nothing they could do after speaking to the insurance company and I needed to file a police report. I again explained to her that I cannot do that because I live out of state and I had just spent ALOT of money to have the best day of my life there and I had property of mine stolen from me and there is nothing they are willing to do to help me. So if you are considering having you wedding or any events there, do not stay at the hotel!!!!!!”

“No hospitality to speak of. No coffee in the lobby for 2 days. No water in the water cooler. No pool towels available at 11am on a Saturday. Broken pool chairs. Parking was difficult after 9pm. Couldn’t figure out how to turn on living room lights but no one was at the front desk to ask for help any time we went there. Cottage was comfortable. View is amazing and location is perfect. You’re paying for those, and for nothing else.”
