“One of my favorite hotels so far in Istanbul is the stunning views from the upper deck and restaurant area. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the rooms are clean with high-end amenities. The hotel used to be an old soap factory from my understanding and recently renovated a few years back. Breakfast was great with many options to eat and a ton of fresh squeezed drinks. Many restaurants and bars that are walking distance right outside the hotel doors with an amazing shopping center close by.”

“The hotel is located in an alley with a steep slope, which is not recommended at all during snowy days. Due to the lack of a suitable sidewalk, it is not easy and safe to access the hotel at any time of the year with a bag or a baby carriage. In the middle of the night, you could hear the sound of the car horn in the streets or the sound of the elevator going up and down. The room was smaller than what we saw in the pictures before booking. The quilts were torn and the room was not completely clean. For breakfast, the tea was sometimes cold and some breads were stale. Overall, it was much lower than expected for a four-star hotel.”

“I liked the hotel, the rooms are good, cleaning service is not bad but not that good. However, we encountered a bad attitude from an old waiter working in the restaurant, he was bullying and abusing in Turkish language whenever he see us at the breakfast time. He kept doing this until we spoke to one of the receptionist in his presence! The breakfast food is not good at all..”

“Location of the hotel is good, like any other in the area. This is in no way a 4 star hotel. If may have been rated as such before, but the condition of rooms, shower, blankets... is not even suitable for a 3 star one. Bed sheets were stained and there was only one size (small) super stiff pillow available. I complained about available tea cups being stained (with tea and lip stick!) and they were substitute with a couple of dirty cups again!! Shower and toilet area was dirty and stained as well, no hair conditioner available and drainage got clogged one time! There were also mosquitos in the room!! Breakfast was good but there was only one type of bread and the coffee machine had only 3 working buttons (others taped over as dysfunctional) Fortunately, I had booked the room for only one night, but you can get double the service and much much better rooms in other 4 stars like AKKA Lush near the Taksim Square for only 10 to 20% higher price.”

The view on the Bosphorus side is amazing. Given the location and the room prices, staying at Cihangir Hôtel in Istanbul is excellent value.”

“I liked everything. The young woman and a man on reception spoke English well and it was comfort to communicate and get some recommendations concerning the restaurants and routes. The room was always clean and they changed the towels every day. There was a strongbox, small refrigerator, table and a chair, TVset. Not far from the hotel there’s one of the main streets with restaurants and shops on it and the metro station Taksim.”

“Great location in a buzzing area of bars and restaurants of all kind. The room is very nice, well designed and minimal, the breakfast options vary from Turkish to bakery products , which was great? However the only minus is the coffee options: if you want anything other than a black coffee (let’s say a cappuccino) you have to pay extra. Other that that the hotel is great value for money. We used the spa services (sauna, swimming pool), which was a great way to relax after spending the whole day visiting the city”

“I am very grateful to the hotel for the rest! I stayed with my husband and child, everyone liked it. I managed to leave money at home without paying for the hotel in advance, and the hotel administration met me halfway, allowing me to pay first only part of the total amount, and then paying the rest. Moreover, we asked for a cot, and we were offered a triple room instead of a double room without any additional payment - it was very cool. I would like to mention the hotel staff separately: everyone is very polite and attentive. Special thanks to administrators Yusuf and Edisa! And they helped to solve all the problems, and they were very politely welcomed. The administration should appreciate such employees, because they are the face of the whole hotel! We lacked a little variety of breakfast food and alarmed the electrical outlets (some in room 701 were out of order). The room was always well cleaned, everything was clean. The windows of our room did not face the street, so it was quiet even with the window open. Excellent location, close to tram stops, Galata port and embankments. There are many cafes and restaurants in the surrounding streets.”

The rooms are very comfortable as well. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to stay in Istanbul.”

“Nice, clean rooms and great view. Breakfast is ok. Location is perfect, as Galata tower and Istiklal street are at a walking distance. There are also metro/bus stations close by and you can reach places like Sultanahmet square and Balat within 15-25 minutes. The negative part is that I found the staff kind of rude the whole time! Only one lady at the breakfast was super nice and polite. Everyone else was just awfully grumpy and unhelpful.”
