“Great stay at the Hampton Inn while in the area for a business meeting. The staff member at the front desk was incredible; he was warm, welcoming, and going above and beyond expected service! He even offered to bring a meal service delivery up to my room while I was on an evening business call so that my food wouldn't get cold. Unfortunately, I can't recall his name. Room was spacious, clean and neat, although a bit tricky to figure out how to work the blinds (small button near the top automatically raises/lowers the blinds). Love that I could pick a room on the app, used advice from other reviews to get one away from street and parking lot. I was very pleasantly surprised at how great my stay here was.”

“Booked a last minute getaway trip. I was checked in by “L” who was courteous and welcoming. Had no issue pulling up my third party reservation. She provided me with instructions on how to get to my room and the availability of dining options on property. I was beyond parched and she generously offered me a complimentary bottled water for my guest and I. I would highly recommend this place. The room was recently renovated. The bed was up to standards and the business desk was perfect for getting some last minute stuff done. Bathroom was at standards and clean!!!! They have a mini fridge for your leftovers and a coffee machine in room.”

“Terrible experience in so many ways. The room had stand-alone portable air conditioners with ventilation tubes attached to open windows. These portable air conditioners are as loud as if I was standing in traffic on a freeway. Directly below my room, outside, is the smokers patio so all the cigarette smoke flows into my room through the windows that cannot be closed. The iron did not function at all. I tried to call the front desk to ask for a functional iron only to discover my phone also doesn't work. The room is dirty, the carpet is old and worn out. The shower pressure is terrible. Any $ amount paid for this room is too much. One of the worst lodging experiences I have had in a long time.”

“Absolutely amazing experience staying here. Worth the splurge for an in mansion room (sunset room had a lovely private outdoor area with a porch swing!) Traveled with a partner for the winter holidays, first time in the area. The pool was fun, the breakfast was tasty and fresh/flexible, the staff was considerate and accommodating. Walkable area as well with plenty to do nearby :)”

“Nice value for the money! Room was clean and well kept. Our room location (4th floor) was quiet and the layout was great. The fold out couch and privacy wall created a two room space in just one room. Nice set up for our family of 4. Fridge was big enough to stock up with drinks and hold leftovers during our stay, and the microwave was a plus. Housekeeping was tricky to figure out at first. A few of the days we requested service it didn't happen, but once I talked to the front desk it was taken care of per our request. Pool was well maintained but we typically had to ask the front desk for towels. There was a soccer tournament and those guests really impacted the other guests in a negative way. Lucky they were only in town for two nights because they took over the pool and DESTROYED the breakfast buffet. Best to hit the breakfast early if you stay. Food is great, but it was hard for the kitchen staff to keep up with hot food demand when a lot of guests were partaking. The gym was awesome! Not crowded and enough to get a nice workout in. I'd stay again for sure!”

“This was a marvelous experience. It was our first time in Julian and the hotel was one of the best experiences. You feel like you are entering in a different era. It allows you to rest and enjoy your partner's company without the noise of the modern world. Also, honestly the best sleep that I have had in months. The town becomes quite after 6pm, so the environment is really nice to rest. The rooms are small but cozy. Don't expect a TV or other tech outside the wifi. Simplicity at its best is what you will find. I will definitely come back when I have the opportunity.”

“Me and my wife stayed here a little over a year ago. Sorry for taking so long. We’re from down south and it was my first time in California. We rented the room closest to the beach on the right. The view was beautiful every day. The room was just what we wanted. Every thing you might need is in walking distance. Also the pop up farmers market was an added bonus. Also the staff was great and super helpful and friendly. The homeless were not even a problem. I even got to know a few of them. They didn’t want anything from me. All in all this Hotel is solid all around.”

“Newish hotel, very clean. They do have an airport shuttle which you can book ahead from the front desk or have it pick you up from the airport. Otherwise it is about 10-15 mins walk from terminal 2. Hotel breakfast is really good and has options than your usual budget tier Marriott properties. Parking fee is $15 a night which isn’t bad considering the downtown hotels (airport is very close to downtown) charge $50/night.”

“This place is amazing. I came here for 3 nights to go to legoland and have the first day off from jet lag. The room is gigantic. Full bathroom, Bedroom, second bathroom, living room, closet, entry way. And a 40 ft long balcony. The views were so good! The people working here are so nice! The view is directly of the ocean. Amazing! There is also the Oceanside pier across the street. And the beach. The food was so good. Everyone at the restaurant is great. The pool was cold (I came in March) but that’s likely why. The people working deserve a raise. This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed it in all of California! Definitely stay here!”

“Great stay here in a women's-only dorm. Pointed out to one of the hosts that the lights outside illuminating the door & stairs were out, but there are some smaller solar lights on the steps themselves. A little concerning he said he didn't know that they had ever worked. The sink in the bathroom was broken, but there was another sink to use in the main form area, so that was okay. I'm not from this geographical area, so I'm not sure if this is normal, but the windows are all propped open a half inch or so, gives a nice breeze off the water but was unwelcome when the dumpster next door was emptied around 6:30am, very loud. Otherwise great experience. My window had an ocean view.”
