The Mugshot Tavern

1729 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6P 1B2, Canada

“My favourite pub in the whole city. Everything on the menu is delicious. I don't know what the chefs do to their burgers but it's some sort of crazy tasty magic. The rotating guest taps keep things fresh and the variety of beers are unique. Different stouts, lagers and sours. Service is always attentive, quick, kind and sometimes with humour. Relaxing atmosphere inside during the cold and rainy days and a nice rooftop patio during the summer months.”

“Great service and amazing food! $9.99 burgers on Mondays! We tried the Buffalo chicken nachos and it was amazing, we didn't need to order extra sourcream and salsa as they provided more than enough! Our server was quick and down to earth! Bathrooms were clean!”

“great bar in the neighborhood with music, vcr movies playing in the back, laidback vibes and good drinks. You go to the bar to order and claim a table/seat for yourself. Drinks were balanced and well priced.”

“My third time visiting, and have been continuly impressed with the quality of the food and fresh poured beers! The burger was amazing and the fries nice and crisp, just how I like them! I really enjoy the porter beer, big taste with lower alcohol compared to some IPA percentages. Overall, I encourage a visit to try their beers and enjoy the comfortable surroundings at the brewery! Cheers”

“Ordered take out fish & chips for first time. Food was very good. Portion size was fair and good value. Nothing worse than pay ing to eat and walking away hungry. That didn't happen and I'm surely gonna try something else there. Nice people, nice place.”

“Classic pub experience. We went for Monday night wing night $8.5 / lb. There were plenty of flavors to choose from and about 20 beers on tap. I recommend the tequila lime wings as they were just the right amount of spice. Wings were large and juicy! This may be my new Monday night spot 😄 Edit: I have been back every week for wing night for a month now so amended rating to 5 stars. They also have daily specials!”

Jake's Boathouse

“I'm surprised I have not reviewed this place when I have been here twice. First time was during lunch on a Saturday and I had the Jerk Chicken Fettuccine which was very delicious! And had 2 glasses of piña colada that day with 3 cherries on top each glass. Friends ordered the fish and chips, spaghetti with meatballs which I had on my 2nd visit to the place and I didn't like it. The meatballs were a bit salty and kind of dry. My friends seem to have enjoyed their Pub Classic chicken wings with varying spiciness and I wished that I ordered the same. I also had fried calamari which was good with 2 diff types of dipping sauce provided and a piña colada this time with only 1 cherry on top (see photos to compare). Will blame it on the economy and not on the bar. Too bad I didn't order their chocolate lava cake for the 2nd time around. My friends also had the Black Tiger Prawn Linguini (also salty I was told), Hawaiian fish tacos and Jake's Classic fish and chips. By around 8pm on that Friday night the Popp Gun band started playing with mixed repertoire from 60s-90s. We started playing "name that tune" in our table. Band wasn't pitch perfect but they were fun to sing along to and listen to, drums and the guitars were good. Overall we had a fun Friday night despite regretting my order and will be sticking to white sauce pasta for next time (Jerk chicken Fettuccine). Although I checked their menu online and this place still has a lot to offer and I was wondering why I didn't try their more interesting meals (unless the menu online is no longer updated vs the bar's actual menu). Photos really help in making decisions on what to order. Parking is not an issue and service is very good. We get checked once in a while unlike other places where you get annoyingly asked if you need anything else like every 10 minutes of interrupting your conversation or while you're busy chewing your food and you want to be left alone. Probably pressuring you to either order or vacate the table for other customers. I will be open to going back to Jake's if it's chosen again as our meet up venue. Perhaps on a Saturday night for next time. P.S. The washroom is kept clean which is one other important thing.”

Lost Craft Brewery

“I had no idea this place existed but I am soooo thrilled that I was invited! We went to celebrate a bday and it was about 20 or so of us - this vibe here is soooo chill, open space, good affordable meals, great music, clean and you can even buy bottle liquor to go. I will FOR SURE be back with friends”

“Hosted a club event where we purchased wristbands for line bypass until 10. When we tried to get in with our wristbands, we were told "it's only line bypass if we're at full capacity and not letting everyone in." This makes no sense and should really be communicated to clubs before they try to host an event here. When we tried to explain, the people at the front of the door were extremely rude. It was also super cold out, and some club members didn't bring coats because they thought they would be able to bypass. Was really upsetting for a lot of our club members since this was a fundraiser for Breast Cancer. Disappointed, would not recommend you host any club events here.”
