“Very pleasant way to get across from Falmouth to Flushing. Reasonable price was £4.00 adult one way. Access down dock steps and in to ferry can be a little tricky.”

Wirral Country Park Caravan And Motorhome Club Campsite
4.6
( 8 reviews )

Station Rd, Thurstaston, Wirral CH61 0HN, United Kingdom

“We were booked in for 3 nights here. 1st time to the site, we will come again. Close to family, which was the reason for the trip. Nice layout, clean ablutions, easy to find with Google maps. Friendly, helpful staff on site. Tidy site, overlooking the River Dee. The fish and chip van visits on a Tuesday evening. We can recommend them. They also have a pizza guy on a Friday evening too. You are welcome to use the social club meant for the Thurstaston Caravan Owners Club, where they have live music and bingo. It is only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.”

Trevedra Farm Caravan & Camping Site
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Sennen, Penzance TR19 7BE, United Kingdom

“The best campsite in the UK? Possibly! Excellent location, within 10 minutes of world class surf beaches and rock climbing areas. Postcard worthy views, stunning sunsets. The campsite facilities are great, very well thought out, spotlessly clean and very friendly. There are also warm wetsuit showers! There is a pretty well stocked shop, although be warned if you go in the morning, you will find it hard to resist the smell of fresh croissants! It isn’t the cheapest site around but it’s very reasonably priced for what you get. 10/10”

Georgies Canal Cruises
4.8
( 16 reviews ) $$
Closed until 10:00 AM

Parkgate Lock, Teddesley Rd, Penkridge, Stafford ST19 5RH, United Kingdom

“A great idea for somewhere different to take your favourite person or people for a meal or birthday do. We were invited to a birthday surprise on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Normal tables and chairs are set out with enough room to sit comfortably. Big windows to look out and a journey down the canal for about an hour each way was plenty of time for dinner, a pudding and coffee. A decent bar on board and a toilet for those in need. Probably not the best views of the countryside but interesting enough, especially through the two locks if you haven't done it before. A few minor bit of rocking when you get on, but soon get used to it. Staff were really friendly. Overall it was a great little trip and good food. Will definitely do it again if the right situation comes up in the near future.”

Napton Narrowboats
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 08:30 AM

Napton Marina, Tomlow Rd, Stockton, Southam CV47 8HX, United Kingdom

“An enjoyable base from which to start your canal adventure. We went from Napton to Oxford over about 10 days navigating our way through the busy Cropredy festival. There were locks aplenty, a few tight turns and a village pub or two. You are never bored on the canal, it’s quite physical but entirely enjoyable. Although you don’t travel very far you see a great deal and start to slip gently into a slower way of life. The boat was in very good condition and reasonably well equipped for the journey. Once you get the hang of it piloting the boat is relatively straightforward. We came across a few others who went too fast which caused problems but generally speaking people on the canals are very friendly and look out for each other. We went in the middle of summer and so paid peak prices, this was a very expensive holiday, which is worth weighing up when booking.”
