“My husband and I are on a mission to tour all the light houses in Florida. Today we took the time to drive down and visit the Hillsboro lighthouse (which is only open once a month) and we did not enjoy our experience. We went for the 2:00 tour and expected a tour. It started raining a little (lasted maybe 15 minutes) and instead of getting 2 hours off exploring we were told only 15 minutes. It was a little rain not a downpour. Then when we were there the volunteer staff was not friendly. All they were interested in was rushing us out, putting their tents down in, and putting the merchandise away. My husband tried to ask questions, and they ignored him. It says there is a museum but no one informed us or guided us. It’s like they were all trying to just get home or watch football. It’s not worth 35.00 a person. If they knew that they were going to only give us 15 minutes they could have told us that when we purchased the tickets and we could have decided if we wanted to come by another time we can make that decision. Overall very disappointing. Don’t waste your money.”

The experience was absolutely amazing as they had seven dolphins. We had the opportunity to interact with Dolphin Maya, who was not only friendly but also incredibly well-trained. They offer various packages, and I've included a snapshot for your reference. While it's a bit on the expensive side for a family outing, it's a truly unforgettable experience. One thing to note is that they have a strict policy against bringing phones, jewelry, or mobile devices inside, so be sure to leave those behind. The package also includes access to numerous photos that you can download from the cloud for up to 30 days. The facility offers ample parking and is conveniently located within a resort, so making a reservation is highly recommended.”

“Incredibly easy to book the tour for my party. When/if you have to call you will 99.99% of the time get a real human. The airboat was very comfortable and rode very well over the light chop of the river. The provided hearing protection doubles as headphones to listen to some well curated music and a few good stories about the area. We got to see some beautiful birds, cute turtles and nice sized gators but the best part is when the captain slows things down a bit and lets everyone enjoy mother nature while gently coasting down the creek. Everyone was incredibly friendly and too great care to engage everyone in conversation, crack a few good jokes and most importantly made sure everyone knew how to be safe and have a great time. “We had a lovely time with captain Jacob and captain Morgan on February 11. We were able to swim into the three sisters springs and view the manatees up close and personal. A lot of time and attention was given on proper behavior around the manatees and abiding by the law to make sure the manatees are treated with respect and care. Captain Jacob led us in the water and answered all questions enthusiastically and ensured everyone in the group had good visibility on the manatees present. I cannot recommend this tour enough. I'll never forget the experience!”

“Wonderful sunset tour! The two running the boat and tour have been here for a long time. They can tell you about the history of the area and local customs, as well as show you and tell you about the wildlife. We saw dolphins, a manatee made a short appearance, and we saw so many birds! Now I have heard the names of most of them at least, lol. It was cold on the water since it is winter. Feel free to bring a blanket. Part of the tour they just sit back and let you watch the sunset. I do wish they had asked about music or played something less twangy, but it wasn't too bad. I think it might make the tour even better if they had a few laminated sheets per seat that show a picture and the spelling of the bird names. It feels like you are in the middle of the color spectrum when you are on the water for the sunset! Absolutely stunning and beautiful! Take your significant other today! Pictures don't do the color array across the sky and reflected in the water justice.”

“December, 2023 ~ We really enjoyed our stay at Gulfport Municipal Marina. This is our 2nd stay at GMM. The staff was helpful. Thanks TEZ for all your help! GMM is located close to a great town with many shops, restaurants, pubs, and a beach. There are many events in town to enjoy. It is also very close to the Pinella’s Bike/Hike Trail, just a short bike ride to downtown St. Pete. Suggestions: Our first stay, we were lucky enough to stay on the floating dock which is within the marina’s gated area. This time we stayed at a long finger dock, which was gated, but the gate was at the end. We had to leave the fenced-in area every time we left the dock. Now this may not seem like an issue, however, we only had one fob. This means: -we always had to have the fob with us to go anywhere (bathroom, shower, laundry, office, etc.) -you needed the fob to get out! This was ridiculous. We both had to be together to let each other in/out of the dock or bathroom area. VERY frustrating. -the gates are on too tight of a spring, closing on your back if you are trying to get something off the dock. -when we left, we had to walk our fob back, then a staff member had to walk us back to open the gate for us to walk on our dock - you need a drop off box -we did not like the fact that we had to “leave” the marina to go to the bathroom, etc. The fence needs to be a couple feet further so ALL docks are within the gated area Now, all this does not mean we will not stay again. We really LIKE GMM! We plan to come again. It is a safe and clean marina. Unfortunately the best dock (the floating one which is close to office area and within fenced area) is used for bigger boats (ours is a 36) Hopefully these suggestions will be considered and modified in the future. “We drove 1 1/2 hours from Port St. Joe for the guided Jet Ski Dolphin tour. The check-in process was very quick and smooth. The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. They have some smaller, but very clean bathrooms onsite and were building a new larger building when we visited August 2023. Ethan was our guide and did a phenomenal job, he worked with the riders that needed help but was still able to make it exciting and fast paced for everyone else. We only saw 2 dolphins one time as we headed out and that was it so if you are looking for a dolphin experience you may or may not get lucky. The website lists Sand Dollar and Starfish find, but we didn't do either of those. Shell island was now what we expected. We walked across the boardwalk to the gulf side, which takes 5-6 minutes unless you don't wear shoes, then it goes quicker as you run to try not to burn your feet. Ethan did warn everyone about wearing shoes and offered to take pictures of our groups. Shell island itself was pretty shell-less, there are smaller one inch shells like you can find at almost every beach, so if you want to find bigger shells this isn't the tour for you. If you are looking for a fast-paced guided jet ski ride, it was great and that's why I gave it five stars. If what they list on their website, dolphins, sand dollars, starfish and shells are important then I would only give this 3 stars and would not recommend it.”
