“Great beginner/family friendly campground. The bathrooms were clean, water was easy to access, and the showers were nice and hot! I'd guess that when the campground is crowded it might be loud. But this is still a great place to have a little escape camping out by the lake.”

Higley Flow State Park
4.7
( 8 reviews )

442 Cold Brook Dr, Colton, NY 13625, United States

“I've camped at Higley Flow many times over the years and I always have a great time. This most recent visit we stayed at site 98 which was close to the bathrooms (nicest I've ever used at a state park) and had a trail to the water. An ice cream truck makes its rounds in the late afternoon. The park has miles of trails to walk with some very pretty views. Firewood is readily available from the locals.”

Hudson River Recreation - Croton River
4.9
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 12:00 PM

18 Veterans Plaza, Croton-On-Hudson, NY 10520, United States

“9/4/23. Croton River, nice sun, slight ebb tide, westerly breeze. Upsides- Good double kayak; helpful launch; lovely 1.5 mile trip upriver; easy return; nice swimming along the way, 72deg F water. Downsides- 0.4 miles to pay $4 for parking then return to launch area (all by car); 2-1/2 hrs on tandem was $105. Stick with 1.5 hr rental. They probably have a 5-10 minute leeway. Well run operation - you'll enjoy yourselves, as did we. Photo from 2019, slightly different kayak then. Same great river.”

Lewey Lake Campsite
4.6
( 8 reviews )

NY-30, Sabael, NY 12864, United States

“Indian lake is absolutely stunning. Brought kayaks and found many islands to hop to. Campground was good, but our site was ok. Right in the sun most of the day. Great place not too far away. Also, I know I'm out in nature, but no cell service.”

“Awesome store - so much kayak and canoe gear - hiking/backpacking stuff too if you forgot something. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We used their shuttle service to get us to Old Forge to do the Northern Forest Canoe Trail back to Saranac Lake - highly recommended way to go rather than trying to do two vehicles”

Fin Chaser
4.7
( 16 reviews )

59 Star Island Rd, Montauk, NY 11954, United States

“I have been on so many fishing trips and Fin Chaser II has been the best. Captain Keith explains all the rules and regulations before we take off. No words can express the experience on this boat. It has been an amazing experience. I have been on so many party boats coming back with one fish. This captain will make sure you come back with your limits and feed the family. Also I need to mention his mates Caroline and Jimmy are so helpful and knows there stuff. It has been a pleasure going out with these guys. Amazing crew!! No words can express the team . You have to experience the journey for yourself.”

Mcallister County Park
4.4
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 06:00 AM

Anchorage Rd, Belle Terre, NY 11777, United States

“Beautiful, peaceful hidden gem. First, getting there, you enter into Belleterre Village, down the main road. Just before the end of the road, you'll see the sign on your left for the park. There's a small parking area ( fits 5-6 cars at most). Don't park on the road, the village constable will give you a ticket. If you get there early, you'll get a spot. If you don't get a spot, the only options are to park outside the village, and walk in, or wait for someone to leave. If you walk in it's about a 1.5 mile walk roundtrip. Inside, the park it's a u-shape area. It's really beautiful. You'll walk along the water to the other side. There are very tall dunes. You can climb them and when you get to the top you'll be treated to a spectacular bird's eye view of the entire area, and an awesome view of the Long Island sound. The entire park is almost like an Island. You can wonder and explore, or climb the dunes or sit by the beach. There's less beach during high tide. There's a lot of poison ivy, so keep an eye out. There are no restrooms. There is a lot of birds, and it's a sanctuary for piping plovers. They are super cute. The park is a little bit of work to get to, but the views are very worth it. Enjoy.l”

Davis Park Marina
4.6
( 8 reviews )

Dune Walk, Davis Park, NY 11772, United States

“Just a gorgeous place. Really well kept and only a short 20 minute ferry ride from Patchogue”

Frost Valley Ymca

( 16 reviews )
Closed until 09:00 AM

2000 Frost Valley Rd, Claryville, NY 12725, United States

“Fantastic! Gorgeous time of the year to come. October Columbus weekend. We stayed in a 10 sleeper cabin. Very well heated! Bunk bed mattress could be softer so bring more bedding if you need. Staff delivered meals to cabin. Meals were delicious and vegan options were excellent! Not going to dining hall was ideal so we could save time, change and continue activities!”

Candlewood Lake
4.4
( 10 reviews )

Connecticut, USA

“Candlewood Lake is a great place for boating and fishing. The town of Sherman has a boat launch for your trailer/boat. Just bring your own bait or stop in New Milford for some. Avoid during the holidays, tooo crowded. pete”

Eagle Point Campground
4.4
( 16 reviews )

8448 US-9, Pottersville, NY 12860, United States

“This is a great campground when we've visited. It's extremely scenic, with beautiful views of Schroon lake. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they clearly take the time to make sure that the restrooms and showers are clean. You can rent kayaks for 15 a day, 20 for tandems...what a steal! You can also swim in the lake as well. Showers are on the hot side of warm, and the pressure is low... but it does the job. The only real downside I can see is for those with campers (didn't apply to us). Some sites are NOT large enough to accommodate larger campers, just make sure your site is big enough ahead of time so you don't wake up everyone at the campground at 130 A.M. (I don't blame that guy, not his fault).”
