“What a great crew. We had a fantastic day. The boat ride out, was fun and the captain gave us a lot of information on the area, The staff made an easy transition from boat to kayak and back again. Our tour guide was terrific and helped us navigate every circumstance with ease. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an up close view at this amazing shoreline”

Wabasis Campground

( 16 reviews )

11220 Springhill Dr, Greenville, MI 48838, United States

“This county park is a place of abundant beauty throughout the year with easy wooded walking trails, a few rolling hills many scenic spots to relax and a very unique spring house near the boat launch. The campground in the park is amazing with nice level lots and it has a great family atmosphere. Wabasis Lake Campground is amazing and feels like a small resort with clean bathrooms and warm showers. There is a nice beach with kayaks and canoes for rent along with a beach store and well stocked campground store with many books, activities, snacks, drinks and other staple food items along with other camping essentials. The campground staff is friendly, hardworking, very understanding and it shows as you can see them hard at work throughout the park. We did three two week stays in the fall of 2023 and had four different sites. All of the sites we stayed in accomadated our 30' class A motorhome with ease. I highly recommend this campground and will be coming back to camp here again.”

“Nice park. Mature trees for shade. Good biking around Lake Cadillac. Tasty beach on Lake Mitchell. Road noise is a bit much and the lots are packed tight. Bath house is brand new and nice. Recommend an end lot like we had.”

Otsego Lake State Park

7136 Old Hwy 27 S, Gaylord, MI 49735, United States

“It was kind of chaos from the get go at this park...they didn't have our reservation in their computer, so had to start all over before getting our site. The check-in girls were super helpful and sweet to help to get us all set up though...sooo thankful for that!!! Our site was really big and right at the top of the Boardwalk going down to the beach. Interesting that you share your electrical box with your neighboring sites though but it worked out fine. You get a nice firepit and picnic table at each site. Lots of huge trees all around campground. Beach for the most part was nice and went of forever with really nice sand. Lots of picnic tables and benches to sit at if your not in the water. They have a nice Pavillion/Store too to buy ice cream, other treats and supplies at. Also Firewood to purchase for $7.00 and Ice for $4.50. Not the best scenario for fishing from shore at this place, very shallow but people were catching small sunfish. We had a good crowd around us at our site location so we were thankful for that! If you want peace while staying there come at the beginning of the week but weekend are crazy and a bit loud there. We thought it was fine camping there but think we will try somewhere else next time in this area.”

Galien River County Park

Closed until 07:00 AM

17424 Red Arrow Hwy, New Buffalo, MI 49117, United States

“Stunning views, green silhouette setting! Truly a GEM!! We loved it and we spent about a half hour here! We recommend the bridge area to walk through and park so you don't have to use the stairs especially if you have little ones!! And the pics speak volumes for how green and magnificent the surroundings truly are!!! We watched the boats go by and took some great selfies for our trip album!!! A MUST DO!!!!”

Sahebgan State Park
4.5
( 8 reviews )

4490 Beach Rd, Cheboygan, MI 49721, United States

“This is a nice and quiet small state park. Those are its pros! Nicely kept, small, and quiet! There are also some sites that are right on the water of the bay. And from the beach, which is about 3 miles from the campground, you can see the Mackinaw Bridge on clear days! The cons to this location is that, at this time, there are only 20 amp hookup for electrical sites. But I did hear of a possible reconstruction of the electrical at this location coming this fall. Also, the sites are fairly small! Other than that, this was a great place to visit!”

Lake Hudson Recreation Area
4.4
( 8 reviews )

5505 Morey Hwy, Clayton, MI 49235, United States

“Camping: If there is a trailer Dump station, I didn't find it, that is the only thing keeping this from a 5 star review. No cell service. Some of the electrical boxes are 50+/- feet from where you would park your camper or set up the tent. I was able to reserve a spot on Saturday night, a couple days out. But the campground was full when we arrived. There is solid greenery between most sites, but many Inner loop sites back to each other, ones on 26-50 inner loop are best for groups. The sites are good sized. No bad spots, just spots for different needs. The whole lake is "no wake", people seemed to be respecting the rule.”

“We love cruising the Muskegon! And we love using Wisner to do it!! Keep up the fantastic service, it won't be our last visit.”

Alcona Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )

2550 Au Sable River Rd, Glennie, MI 48737, United States

“Beautiful views from the cabins on the East side. They are pretty private and it's nice because we don't drink or party and sometimes it's hard to separate from others who are out partying all night. Cabins do not have electricity or water but it was fine for what we needed. It says on the website that the one we rented sleeps six but there were just two beds. One was a bunk bed and another a full sized single. Rentals are a little pricey for what's included. It was $140 for two nights and you cannot put any additional tents or anything on the property without paying extra. Showers take tokens, which you have to buy from the office. Tokens are $0.25 each and get you about 5-7 minutes per token. That's not expensive but for the overall price, showers should be included. There are outhouses located throughout the park and most of them are fairly clean but do not usually have toilet paper. Overall we had a good experience but there are some things that could be improved.”

Crystal River Outfitters

( 10 reviews )

6249 River Rd, Glen Arbor, MI 49636, United States

“All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Extra shout-out to Montana who drove us to the launch point. He was fun to chat with and gave us several good recommendations for the rest of our trip in Michigan. Paddling the river was wonderful. It lives up to its name with crystal-clear water and we saw plenty of wildlife as we relaxed and enjoyed our afternoon on the water. This is the kind of paddling excursion that you can take kids and beginners on. The current is gentle, but quick enough that you don't actually have to paddle much if you don't want to. The water was only a few feet deep throughout the entire run. The beginning section (out of three sections) does have a lot of overhanging trees that are easy to get snagged on, but there is nothing dangerous about it and you can easily push your way out or get out of the boat and walk if you misjudge your turn and find yourself stuck.”

Aune Osborn Campground

1225 Riverside Dr, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783, United States

“Pleasant with first rate views of ships passing through the locks. They pass amazingly close by and make their turn down the Staint Mary's River. Spectacular to watch. The campground is often full so book ahead. It has decent amenities while close to downtown and the locks. We have been here several times and always been happy to stay here.”

Upon arrival, clear instruction was given and got to explore the cute gift shop while waiting to load buses to head to beach for take off. All staff I encountered were kind and helpful. The guide was nice, funny and even took some pictures and shared with those who asked for them. Overall a fun experience!”

Leelanau Pines Campground

6500 E Leelanau Pines Dr, Cedar, MI 49621, United States

“Our family spent 5 days here. The experience was positive! High marks for good customer service on a variety of fronts. The campground was well maintained and very clean. Also, very pretty/picturesque. The location was outstanding for touring the Leelanau Peninsula. When we departed back to Kentucky, my thought was, "It's too bad we live so far away as we'd visit on a regular basis." Good campground!”

Ferguson Park

“On the banks of the Red Cedar River, it is a beautiful place to spend a short time with family and friends. The place is relatively small and cannot accommodate a large number of people. It is worth noting that mosquitoes are common in the area. Free parking is available, as well as parking spaces for people with disabilities.”
