“This review is not for the park, but for the Merritt Ridge Trail within the park. This trail is 8.4 miles round trip from the parking area. The initial trail is a nice walk, but once you get to the connector trail, then to Merritt Ridge, it becomes an obstacle course, navigating through and around fallen trees. At times, getting around the debris can get you off course. I had to use my phone map app to get us back to the trail. Once even using a compass to reorient our path. The trails are well marked, but getting around the trees can make finding those markers difficult. This trail has been seriously neglected and is no longer safe for the average hiker. It took us over 6 hours to hike a trail that once was my favorite place to go.”

“My husband and I had a blast roaming around on the jet skis for 4 hours! Our deck hand gave us a great tutorial and had us out on the water in no time. Douglas Lake is beautiful and there is so much to explore. Although the jet skis look a little banged up from previous riders they performed great. We even had our own little race on the lake and I won of course. Had my ski up to 48 mph. Jumping the waves from the boats is always a lot of fun. Would definitely come back and highly recommend!”

“We had a raft of 5 people, and we all loved it. Ages 14-42. We did get stuck twice on rocks but were able to push off with our oars. There weren't many openings for us to pull off and hang a bit like we wanted. Seemed like debris had gotten caught in areas that we may have been able to stop at. There are areas where the water flowed fast, and there were areas where we were just able to slowly coast along and enjoy the views. We were able to pretty much stay close to another raft of family members. Don't think about this trip people, do it!”

“Great place to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Whether you're fishing, hiking, picnicking, boating, exploring, or just looking for peace and tranquility, you definitely need to visit this magnificent area. There are also some educational displays available in the overlook buildings which describe the role the TVA has played in that area. Go and Enjoy!”

“The last couple miles into the park are curvy and downhill. Once in the park, it is pretty spacious and well kept. Check your supplies because there is nothing nearby. ATT cell service was excellent.”

“Definitely recommend this place. Great location, awesome staff and reasonable prices. They even give you ice cream and a pizza after your rental time is up. The lake is very clean and has gorgeous views. Will be back to visit this Marina on our next TN trip!”

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue we ran into was when we dropped anchor in 30ft deep water it got caught in a log. The staff came out with another boat to help and had to cut the anchor. We were charged for the anchor even though it wasn't really our fault. Other than that we had a great time.”

“My wife and I stayed here for 9 nights to be able to ride the various beautiful roads on our motorcycles. The first weekend we arrived we had three additional family members stay with us who had their own vehicles and trailers to bring their motorcycles. The campground didn’t mind the additional members of our party and even let us park the extra vehicles and trailer in the overflow boat parking area on the East side of the park. The entire park is very quiet during the week and we only noticed people during the weekend moving around in their campers. During the week it was pretty empty. They do have a 10pm curfew for their gate which is odd, but understandable to keep the campground safe and quiet. We only had to walk one evening after a late dinner with friends. Not a long walk to any part of the campground. We will definitely be back to this campground for our next motorcycle trip next year!”

“August 2023 visit, the large clubhouse/pro shop is under construction and looking pretty good from the exterior, out by the range they've built 2 separate buildings that are a very nice upgrade, a ton of work going on with the course, really good track GREAT GOLF COURSE.... Layout is MONEY!!!! hit it straight off the tee and easy to hit most fairways, it's about all in front of you... But the greens and the pin locations are the defense, let alone missing greens and dealing with some brutal bunkers protecting the front and around most greens.... Get wayward of the tee and trouble is all over the place so be ready to re tee or take a drop.... Only reason this course don't deserve a 6 star if possible is the very very poor overall course condition, fairways were horrible and the rough patchy and very inconsistent”
