“It's a great place to come out and enjoy the beach and nature. It's best on days less crowded and busy. I've been here when it was ridiculously busy before and although it was still fun for everyone, keep in mind that there will not be a lot of parking spots as well as a place to sit near the beach. But you'll never know until you get there. So just go and have fun!”

“We have camped at Prairie Island for three years now over the Boats and Bluegrass music festival in late September. The campground is always clean and well kept, with an organized check-in, in spite of the large numbers of campers. The riverside location is beautiful. We especially appreciated management assistance this year, when we discovered our car battery was dead. They had a battery pack for us to jump it back to life, free of any charge! We will always come back for the festival, but are so thankful for such a wonderful campground, amenities, and staff!”

“We really enjoyed our first camping trip in 8 years. My 3 teens lived being by the Root River and catching fish, crayfish and just having a great time. My wife and I thought the campground bathrooms were very nice and cleaned often. The showers are nice and will cost .25 cents for 4 minutes, no issue, just bring quarters. My whole family went tubing on Saturday and had a great time going slowly down the Root River. The office staff were kind and friendly throughout our stay. We even forgot the poles to our tent, and they provided us with options that allowed us to stay and enjoy our trip. My family highly recommends staying at Eagle Cliff campground! Aaron and Family”

“Excellent campground with super friendly & helpful camp hosts. Level concrete sites, most with lake views of some sort. Clean restroom/shower facilities, nice playgrounds, walking/bike path, firewood & light refreshments for purchase. Word of caution, the higher numbered sites do not have water at the site. It's easy to miss that if only booking off the map vs detail view. However, there is water available to fill tanks. Two stations at the dump station. Quiet park with a nice breeze off the lake. Highly recommend.”
