“One of the best collections of any bookstore I have ever been in. The shelves are overflowing, both with tons of copies of popular books and unique ones you’re unlikely to find elsewhere. The store is deceptively huge as well. The used books are all reasonably priced and in good shape. The one downside is there isn’t a store catalogue to search for a particular book but digging is part of the fun and the sections are well categorized. Bonus shoutout to the two kitties that live here!”

“Multiple employees absolutely refuse to sell Pokémon product because, as one employee on staff said, he "doesn't understand it", despite prices listed and product on the shelves and in display cases. 🙃 Absolutely baffling and has happened multiple times. HOWEVER. If you can get the lady who really knows the Pokémon counter (and she can be hard to run into!) then you'll have a great time. Shame she's the only one.”

“Friendly staff. Great teachers. Solid selection. Every experience I've had going into Kline has been great. They do a good job of covering a lot of musical categories. They have guitars, basses, keyboards, ukuleles, harps, saxophones, French horns, trumpets, trombones, cellos, violins, bongos, percussion stuff, and even a few oddities from around the world. The only thing that comes to mind that some might consider a negative is that most of their instruments come from the same brands. For example, they have a decent selection of bass guitars, but they are all Fender, Yamaha, and a couple from Gretsch. So if you're looking for a specific brand, give them a call before popping in to see if they carry that brand. I love the place and would highly recommend giving them a visit.”

“The Avid Reader truly made my day, week, or even year. I pre-ordered Iron Flame on Amazon months ago and when release day came and they delayed my order indefinitely I was heartbroken. That’s when I called the Avid Reader. The kind lady I spoke to on the phone totally understood my panicked state, my hundreds of questions, and answered them gracefully even when I repeated myself. She was able to reassure me they did have some copies left, even the special edition one I had been wanting. Not only that but the person who rang up my book was super understanding and made me feel so much better about this whole experience. They even gave me a goodie bag with stickers, a bookmark, and a temporary tattoo pack! I know the next time I need a book I’m choosing them! The incredible customer service filled with kindness and understanding has made me a loyal Avid Reader customer!”

“Fantastic art store. They have materials for all sorts of arts and crafts. Pens, markers, paints, brushes, plates, papers, canvasses, metal thread (for jewelry making), beads, alcohol inks, press printing, etc... also easels. They have a small book section for ideas and inspiration. They have crafts for kids, as well as real artist level materials. They have adorable gifts, stickers, games, and fidget toys. So it's also a good shop when looking for presents for some people. You can sign up there for a free store account for a discount, but you need to give them a phone number and email.”

I observed how the owner walked with my brother towards the books and probably explained to him what the book was for. It took me a while to read the Siddur. I stopped by the store approximately 1-2 weeks before the September 3, 2023 release date of “Time Without Keys” Ida Vitale distributed by New Directions. A pleasurable exchange and book conversation with Quinn and Emma who placed the order and upon my walk today stopped in to pleasantly find out it was there in a punctual manner. Their team work and friendly demeanor exceptional. I call him The Mighty Quinn as a reference to the song and the fact we both prefer the Manfred Mann cover! Good to have some lighthearted humor in the mix. If you look at the photos closely there is one with the bag. Pay attention to the store stamp. Quinn stamps each bag one by one!!! This is how much heart and love goes into the endeavor. Support this store and share with others who love books and writer events.”
