“I enjoy shopping at Mariposa for produce and dairy items, they are the only store in the neighborhood that offers produce. Their produce is always fresh and they offer a light selection of shelf stable foods. Their dairy selection is a little limited but good enough for a quick pick up of milk or eggs if needed. The store has issues with aggressive panhandlers and addicts at the front door begging (and sometimes threatening) for small change. They have made efforts to address this but it just pushed the panhandlers onto the stoop at the door.”

You have a Huge variety of everything spiritual. I haven’t seen this much unique and beautiful variety in a long time. “Came in here with my two young children. My 3 year old picked up a red belt and said “ooo pretty!” And a store employee rushed over, took it out of his hands and said he should not wear a women’s belt and hung it back up. Then my daughter was looking at the child’s bows in a basket on the floor and I showed my son a fluffy jacket. The same employee rushed over and said he is not to touch the jacket. I just looked at her confused. I felt like we were just being followed around so my son didn’t touch anything related to ‘women.’ It was absurd!! I told my kids we were leaving and they started crying (because they are 1 and 3 and were told we were going shopping for them). But on our way out we passed the same employee who scoffed at us and mumbled something under her breath. It is already hard enough to take two small kids out on your own, but to have someone follow you around and make you and your kids feel like we’re doing something wrong for simply shopping?! My kids weren’t acting crazy, drawing attention or running around. People and environments like this are the reason mothers and small children feel isolated and don’t want to go out. I will never ever return here.”

“Best place in Altona to buy good quality furniture. Most of the stores in town sell poor quality new stuff. This place focuses on used and even antique quality items at a fair price. Some of the stuff needs some TLC, but older stuff has unique craftsmanship making that work worthwhile. It's a small shop, but it is packed full. You don't always find what you need, but it's always interesting to browse. There isn't a lot of parking, and I've needed to park next door at times.”

“Gone are the days of affordable thrift stores. SUPER sad to see such high prices at a store I have loved for many years. I visited from out of town and am so shocked at these insane prices! Charging over $5 for clothing that has been given to you for free is greedy beyond belief. You'll make much more if you lower your prices. $12 for a pair of boots that were quite literally falling apart and $7.99 for used bras... do better.”

“It was the first time I've been to The Exchange. I absolutely loved the experience. They have a lot of stock and whether they are used or not as well as the condition of the item , denotes the price. I picked up battlefield 2042 for $20 and Battlefield 1- Revolution for $7. There was no shortage of staff that helped me promptly. They also have records (vinyl) and movies. Again, depending on condition, you will pay different amounts. The do take credit cards so you don't have to run for cash! Great place if you're looking for a movie, game or vinyl!!”
