Try out some new pens or markers, geek out on all the different inks, discover a new notebook, and chat with the really sweet and knowledgeable staff. Leo helped me get samples of a bunch of new ink (a great way to try out something new without splurging on the entire bottle), and someone else (I’m so sorry I forgot your name) helped me decide on a new fountain pen. I spent way too long (and too much money) at this stop!”

“The LaGrangeville ShopRite has gone WAY downhill under the new management this year. The store is filthy and there are many expired, and spoiled items on the shelves. In terms of freshness, you have to check everything you buy here. A few moldy berries in the produce dept. Numerous expired foods throughout the store. I found numerous expired larabars with dates of Feb 15, 2023. There were multiple baking cups with dates of Feb 13, and April 16. There were multiple condiments with dates from May. Even worse, was the multiple slices of cheese that had dates of March 27! These cheeses even had mold on them! I couldn’t believe there was months expired cheese with visible mold on the shelves in the dairy section! Worst of all was the bags of clams in the seafood dept. All 4 bags stunk, the stench was unbelievable. They reeked like dead fish. These must have been sitting out for a long time, and were definitely completely rotten. Someone could get seriously sick from this. In terms of cleanliness, the store is filthy. The front entrance where the carts are kept; the floor is filthy and there is a large amount of trash scattered all over the floor, it obviously hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. The dairy shelves are dirty where the cheese is. There is visible black mold, dirt and grime on the shelves. The floors throughout the store, particularly in the freezer aisles are not as clean as they could be. There were multiple fruit flies all over the onions in the produce dept, and onion peels scattered on the floor. The shelves throughout the store weren’t as well stocked as they used to be. Some depts were a mess. Dairy was a mess with items strewn everywhere. What is going on in this store? Under previous managers, this store was MUCH better. Now it’s filthy, messy, and understocked with many rotten, expired, and spoiled foods on the shelves. There is absolutely no care in the store whatsoever. How can the store managers be ok with their store looking like this? I understand things get missed, but this is numerous serious issues. ShopRite, please change the management here ASAP!!! Get new management who will fix this store up, because this store currently is violating health regulations in several areas, and someone is going to get sick from the spoiled/expired foods on the shelves! This used to be a great store, but it is not anymore.”

It seems like their processor racks aren’t being adequately cleaned and their chemicals aren’t being properly replenished. They’re reasonably priced and I really appreciated the person at the counter getting my roll done quickly, but I’m quite disappointed with the result.”

“I walked into this shop because I was tired of ordering comics blindly online... Huge waste of time and money. I drove past the place, and it caught my eye. I parked and walked in. I gave the gentleman my preferences and told him about the comics that I enjoyed and he was able to get me the best stories that I've read so far. This is why we need places like this. “We visited the apothecary today upon recommendation of Kristie M. Everyone was extremely sweet and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain many things to my daughter and myself, as well as helping me to find a gift for a friend. It was a very large space with many options. Two floors and an outdoor area as well. I highly recommend stopping in!”

“4 of us visited for the 1st time Friday at 5:30. We had the crab cake appetizers, the full filet, Bay Street Shrimp, stuffed pork chop, and lobster mac and cheese. I would go back for the crab cakes. They were fantastic! The filet was perfect, and the bay street shrimp and pork chop stuffed with mozzarella and basil were very good. I loved the mashed potatoes. The lobster mac and cheese was a disappointment. The noodles were soggy and had a bit too much salt. The restaurant was dated and could use some decor updates, plus it has accessibility issues (for the blind) . Low plants on deck walking to the door, uneven flooring, The wait staff seemed ambivalent to their customers. Prices were very high but the food that was good was very good!”

“I love this thrift store and make it a point to stop by every time I visit Manhattan. Every couple of months, I have an appointment at the NYU building of dentistry, and this a really close walk from there. Stopping at Vintage Thrift before I head home is part of my NYC ritual. I can always find something interesting here; wheather its a nice top, a scarf, some new plateware for the kitchen, a unique book or piece of art, I rarely ever leave empty-handed, and the prices always feel totally reasonable. Whoever curates the pieces that end up here, does a really wonderful job! I wish I could come here more often!”
