“We loved exploring Elephant Rocks. They are amazing once you let your imagination flow. Make sure you go down the steps to the beautiful beach, if the tide allows. The rocks look just like a herd of elephants. Make sure you also visit the Green Pools while in the area, just gorgeous!”

Parking available and part of the lookout area is available. Warning signs have not been put up yet. Toilets are opened to public. Waterfall is really beautiful and full of water. Don’t miss it.”

R.j. Hamer Arboretum
4.7
( 8 reviews )

10 Chalet Rd, Olinda VIC 3788, Australia

“We've visited here a few times and it's an idyllic spot to stop for a breather to enjoy the views, or to spend a day enjoying the fresh air and great views North to the Yarra Valley. Accessed via well graded dirt and gravel roads, expect your vehicle to get quite dusty in dry weather, or muddy in wet weather Sweeping verdant green lawns in spring, although it is quite steep if you come straight down from the car park, so watch your step! Plenty of space to kick a ball around, throw a frisbee etc, people set up deckchairs and have picnics. There are public toilets at the Eastern end, a couple of shelters, with free BBQs, benches, and paths to various walks. I didn't notice any signage or maps indicating what walks are available, distances etc. Although it is a mature Arbortoreum established in the 1970's, apart from a memorial plaque there was no history, info plaques on plantations, purpose or aims of the plantation etc, which I found disappointing.”

We loved exploring the inside shop for all the Fossils and Crystals, checked out the big crates of rocks & crystals outside then explored the Dinosaur Garden! If you’re after fossils, rocks or minerals this is definitely the place for you & the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. What a treasure trove! You can also check out the Great White Shark in the carpark!! Yep, you heard right!”
