1 Pl. de la République, 67000 Strasbourg, France
“Lovely gardens ! We couldn't go inside because we visited on May 1st but would recommend everyone visiting for some nice pictures and getting away from the most touristic places close to the cathedral.”
Le Château, 61320 Carrouges, France
“This is a beautiful place to visit. The grounds are stunning. We went on a tour of the castle and information is provided in both French and English. This used to be a guided tour but now you can walk around at your leisure. There is visible renovation being done to the roof and walls which makes the castle even more impressive. Suitable for all ages, its a place I would return too.”
Piste de la Courtade Île de Porquerolles, 83400 Hyères, France
“A magic place, immersed in nature, with art and gardens that echo the beauty of the island of Porquerolles. From a sculpture garden to a gallery with the likes of Basquiat and Bruce Nauman, plan couple hours of your time to discover every experience as inter-related little worlds of intelligence. Start with the delicious restaurant, then go to the gardens to slowly make your way to the art gallery below ground, they will ask you to be barefoot to feel the art with intimacy. This is a family owned space and it brings you closer to the art, it makes it genuine and approachable, involves all your senses, beyond brain, it's a humble and generous temple to the arts reconnecting you to your inner nature and your inner island. Don't miss it!!!”
57230 Philippsbourg, France
“Great place to visit. From parking to the top maybe a 10 minute walk. Worth for sure. Maybe not for people with walking problems or elderly people. You can look it yourself and enjoy the view. It was interesting and fun!”
31-33 Rue Hersent-Luzarche, 36290 Azay-le-Ferron, France
“Excellent visit. The grounds are extensive and beautifully laid out with magnificent topiary. The modest entry fee is worth it for the gardens alone. We took the guided tour of the Chateau, (in French however we were leant a guide book in English which was useful) about an hour. Once being a hunting lodge, it is full of stuffed animals and interesting features. It's pretty much as it was when gifted to the city of Tours in the 1920's . It was a very hot day, and my only gripe was not being able to buy a cold beer in the tea room.”
1 Carr de Longchamp, 75016 Paris, France
“If you love photography and of course nature and animals... visit this place. I was amazed by the photos and the displays. They have videos about the animals and the birds of France , which you can watch in their theater room .”
Hameau de, 76480 Duclair, France
“Un unforgettable evening lighted with over 2000 candles on August 10th 2019. Going back there for a concert today (21/08/20). Don’t know how it’s gonna be with the Covid 19 restrictions.”
Berchigranges, 88640 Granges-Aumontzey, France
“Must see if you like gardens. We never saw the same thing twice and were easily there a couple of hours, well wife likes gardens but i enjoyed it too! There's a vast variety of garden and pond areas to view and photograph. On arrival you will be encouraged to walk barefoot, so TAKE YOUR SANDELS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE THEM OFF. The grass areas were perfectly manicured and felt like carpet. It's really well looked after, but not cheap. We paid £10.00 per adult (Aug 2018).”
Abbaye de Flaran, 32310 Valence-sur-Baïse, France
“Some intriguing masterpiece artwork is exposed here, but it's all a little run down and the garden isn't kept. The actual church is the most interesting piece of architecture, though it is completely bare and has no stained glass windows. For the 5€, it's worth the visit.”
Château Digoine, 71430 Palinges, France
“Charming property in the Burgundy region with lavish furnishings and a lush park. Excellent guided tour of the interior, just make sure you brush up on your French listening skills (English guidebook provided) unless you visit during the summer months. Highly recommended.”
Plot, 26150 Die, France
“Serene and enjoyable for a quick visit. I used Google Lens to help identify some of the butterflies I didn't recognise.”
Chateau de, 64390 Laas, France
“We visited just to see the house and we’re more than impressed by the unique collection of 18 th century memorability displayed and the quality of restoration undertaken on the home. This really is a museum presented to the highest standards. Our appreciation goes to our guide who showed great depth in her knowledge and presented well in English ( we were lucky for tours are normally conducted in French). The park staff were also accomodating of us; pleasant and helpful. We are more than satisfied we diverted to Lass.”
924 Cor Bonaparte, 83500 La Seyne-sur-Mer, France
“We’re not open during advertised hours, disappointing.”
11 Rue du Haut Fourneau, 08160 Vendresse, France
“Wow! We stumbled upon this place and loved it. Happily spent a couple of hours with all the games around.”
48 Av. Clot Bey, 13008 Marseille, France
“So many varieties of plant and trees we as a family enjoy spending time inside jardin botanical in nature.”
Rte de l'Eglise, 76119 Varengeville-sur-Mer, France
“This place was well maintained and had many beautiful floral trees. Being someone who seeks out a more natural setting though, I disliked how many tourists were there even on a weekday. You never we're able to have too much time alone since everyone follows the trail. None the less, it was a nice walk on a spring day..only a little chilly in the shady parts.”
78 Cor Fleurie, 06200 Nice, France
“A delightful free park in the north of the city. As a keen gardener this was an utter delight. Word of warning though, do use bug spray or cover arms and legs because there were bitey and buzzy things.”
Rue Lachanal, 07300 Tournon-sur-Rhône, France
“Amazing dedication to bring back Eden Garden established 500 years ago by monks. Worth entry feed of €6.”
7 Chem. de Bouttemont, 14100 Ouilly-le-Vicomte, France
“Beautiful house and garden. The view of the chateau across the lake is just exquisite. Very quiet during our visit but the number of chairs at the café indicates it could get very busy.”
