1510 Avenue of the Stars, Orlando, FL 32836, United States

“Though I'm a cast member now, I can still say without bias that world showcase is my favorite area in any theme park. It is escapism at its best. There's almost always a festival happening. There are rides. There is food and beverage. And at night when everything is lit up it's super beautiful. For me it is what makes Disney a magical place to visit over and over again.”

1800 Weedon Dr NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, United States

“A great Native American History center set within the 3,200 acres of Weedon Island Preserve. Native Americans lived on Weedon island 1,000 to 1,800 years ago. The exhibit center is nicely laid out to help visitors understand ancient and modern people and how the two shaped each other. The Native American sites in the preserve were excavated by a St Petersburg archaeological firm starting in 1992 and continued for several years. One notable find is a boat made from a hollowed-out log, that was discovered preserved in mud. A fascinating place to visit.”

Oxbow Eco-center
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 12:00 PM

5400 NE St James Dr, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983, United States

“New Year's Day Hike in the Oxbow Preserve in the St. James area of Port St Lucie The Oxbow Preserve is a 225-acre site along the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. The preserve offers 3 ½ miles of hiking trails and is where young and old alike can discover the mysterious and hidden life of the forest and river. The trails are flat and easy to walk on. We saw an armadillo and gopher tortoises burrows, a few squirrels. There were probably lots of birds but we were there to walk. The preserve offers a rare glimpse of “the real Florida” - in the canopy of the floodplain forest, the scrub and pine flatwoods and in the primordial swamps and wetlands. The center offers guided hikes and educational programs for families, children and adults. Though it was closed the day we went, our purpose was hiking.”
