Ladew Topiary Gardens

( 10 reviews )

3535 Jarrettsville Pike, Monkton, MD 21111, United States

“Went for Halloween and had a great time with friends I was very impressed with the pumpkin carvings. Several areas to buy food and drink and the landscaping was very well done. Price was a little steep in my opinion but I know it takes a lot to make things look great.”

3100 Swann Dr, Baltimore, MD 21217, United States

“Took four kids to see this. Had a great time, especially feeding the fish and walking around outside afterwards. The flowers, fruits, cacti, and other plants are beautiful. (Great restrooms too!) Suggested and non-enforced donation of $5/ person for entry. Twenty-five cents for some fish food.”

Conowingo Fisherman's Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Open until 06:00 PM

2569 Shures Landing Rd, Darlington, MD 21034, United States

“This is a great place to see Bald Eagle activity! Granted, it is one of the most popular viewing sites in probably all of the United States for eagles, so be prepared for larger crowds of photographers, especially on days when they release trout into the river. On a good weather day, it is not uncommon to see over 200 photographers here, with lenses from simple 200mm to top of the line professional $30,000+ lense setups. The park is laid out nicely along the water's edge, so there is usually always a place to set up your tripod and gear, but if you want to actually set up on the concrete fisherman's wharf, come early. Like 8am if possible. Most eagle activity is centered on the opposite side of the river, so you will need a good lens to really bring them in close - at least a 600mm lens. However, you do occasionally see eagles flying directly overhead and landing in trees above you, so still bring whatever camera you have and you might get lucky with a good shot. Port-a-potties are on site, and picnic tables are available, so bringing lunches is welcomed and recommended.”

Thomas Point Park
4.4
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 09:00 AM

3890 Thomas Point Rd, Annapolis, MD 21403, United States

“We paid to park even though I can get in with my military ID. It was a very pretty walk out to the point where there is a Pavillion you can rent through Quiet Waters Park. We could not get pictures of the light house from the shore even with my zoom on but you could with a regular camera and a zoom lens. Nice visit.”
