“I loved walking through this garden, it’s a hidden gem in the city. Peaceful, serene and isolated on a Tuesday afternoon. I only saw 2 other people there. Great place to sit and meditate. The pond has really pretty koi in it, too. Not dog or bike friendly so make sure to keep those out.”

“We love coming here in the warmer months to enjoy the outdoor gardens and splash pad for younger kiddos, but special events here are also wonderful. We've been for weddings, birthdays, and their Winter Nights Winter Lights event, and we always have the best time!”

Orchids By Hausermann Inc

( 8 reviews )
Open until 04:30 PM

2N134 Addison Rd, Villa Park, IL 60181, United States

“I recently received my first order from Hausermann’s, and am beyond impressed with the quality of the plants, and the care taken in safely packaging them for transport. In spite of FedEx running a couple days later than expected, everything arrived safely, with no damage, AND with all of the media still in the pots, including the MONSTER of a standard Cattleya I bought. When the standard Catt. bloomed with a much different flower than expected over a month later they immediately offered to send a replacement, as the plant I received was clearly mislabeled. I will not hesitate to order from Hausermann’s again. Great quality plants, and great customer service.”

Japan House, University Of Illinois At Urbana-champaign
4.8
( 8 reviews )

2000 S Lincoln Ave, Urbana, IL 61802, United States

“The garden looks very beautiful and peaceful. It is free to see the garden and I would give it 5 stars. However, I would never recommend their tea ceremonies. Although we had to pay $17 for the student tickets, which I would happily pay to attend a good tea ceremony, they were not even wearing traditional clothing such as kimono, which is a minimum expectation from this cultural event. Also, the host did not seem to be nice to everyone (at least to us) and did not have a welcoming attitude. They seemed to be in a rush to finish the show as well. I would expect a much better effort from people presenting the culture of a country, especially a country like Japan with such a rich culture.”

“Excellent Local Sports Book inside the Temporary Building - Everyone there is Super Friendly and Helpful - I recommend a Jumbo Chicago Style Hot Dog w/ Peppers & an Ice Cold Tight Head Draft Beer.”
