“A simple trattoria just off the main road. Not much to look at, but plenty of free parking outfront, and simple decor within. Host is attentive and friendly. All smiles and instantly gave us the English menu. The tagliolini with deer ragu was flavorful and homely. Serving portion is moderately large. Quite a fair price for 10Euros. The local trout was grilled up with potatoes in basic herbs. Very simple but quite flavorful as well. Tiramisu was more dense than what we are used to but still quite good in its own way.”

“This place is luxury with a capitol L! We had the best time trying out this restaurant for a late lunch. It was a Saturday and surprisingly not busy so we practically had the entire place to ourselves. The prices were actually very reasonable so we got a variety of foods (pizza, meatballs, desert, coffee). There was also a kids menu which was as a bonus for us as we have a little one. But what really made this experience even more pleasant was our waiter (Leonardo) who was absolutely fantastic and warm. He was very friendly and attentive and made our experience that much better. If you are in downtown Milan and want a luxury yet affordable experience then definitely try this place out. We ate at the Gallia Lounge & Bar which was not the rooftop.”

“Breathtakingly unwelcoming and unfriendly reception. This was the worst refuge I have encountered in three months of hiking through Slovenia, Austria and Italy. The manager appears to think he is running a five star hotel in the centre of Milan, not an Alpine Club refuge in the mountains. It was so awful that despite being tired after a hard day and having just fallen and hurt my hand, I opted to continue walking rather than stay at this dreadful place. Not a recommended stop on the E5. Edit: Firstly, I was not there on Sunday, it was a Friday and the place was almost empty. At most 10 other people. Secondly, I was not ordering food, I wished to stay at the refuge. Thirdly, my German is poor, but I was doing my best to use it. The manger refused to speak slowly so I could understand, despite REPEATED requests to do so. In the end, a young staff member had to translate his impatient, very fast speech for me. I am an Alpine Club member, however when I produced my membership card, he treated me as if I was trying to defraud him, despite the card clearly showing the reciprocal membership rights symbol. The card is accepted throughout Europe, including in multiple other Italian Alpine Club refuges. It is fortunate that after three months of continuous hiking in the mountains, I am extremely fit and strong and I was able to continue, with a 20kg pack and walk for 9.5 hours in order to find somewhere more welcoming to stay. It is an indication of how bad my reception was at this hut, that this was preferable.”

“Cute cafe and bar with pastries, food, and coffee. The atmosphere felt cozy and there are an upstairs area to sit. I grabbed a quick drink, the bicerin, a Torino specialty made with espresso chocolate and whipped cream. the cream is divine, very rich. Tasted more like a dessert and served with a shot of sparkling water to cleanse the palate.”

“Unfortunately it felt like the feeling of meeting a beautiful woman, without any brains, when we were having brunch. It’s very well marketed and presented, really mouthwatering and hard to choose, but unfortunately disappointing 😢 The Oreo frozen latte was boring. The Insane French was maybe insane in size, but pretty bland of taste and the bread was way to thick and a bit gummy like. The Bacon Benedict was pretty ok. The service was really friendly and their English was good.”

“It was good experience. We came here to try this American burger style. I was amazed foods are great and burgers are sooooo delicious and creamy. Worth the price. Staffs are too kind and friendly.( which is rarely to other restaurants ). I really love the ribs so tender, delicious, creamy and tasty. Surely we will be back soon. Place is not that big so I recommend to reserved a table. They also have an outside table too. Not that plenty chairs outside but it’s perfect for summer. They also have a card games when you wait someone, you you won’t get bored. I love the environment inside music are good, American style and decorations too. I really recommend to try this restaurant. Keep up the good work guys.”

“Huge portions and tasty food. Very reasonably priced, especially considering how much food you get. I ordered the Boscovich salad and saffron sausage risotto for lunch. I would have been fine ordering either the salad or risotto only, but ended up finishing both dishes because they were so good. Excellent lunch restaurant!”

“The hotel room was nice and the garden where you have breakfast/dinner is a very nice setting too. The staff is friendly, but unfortunately the service at dinner not good (40 minutes until the bill arrives). Prices at dinner are a bit higher than other restaurants in the area. The food at dinner was great though. The breakfast was ok - nothing special and terrible coffee. To get an acceptable coffee you need to pay extra at breakfast. The room did not always have hot water for shower and checking out we were charged some drinks/snacks too much. The pool area was nice. The town itself has nothing to offer - bit depressing. Overall everything was ok but not great.”

“The place has potential but it has to improve in order to qualify as a good, high quality place. We have started with cocktails at the bar which were decent and then move to our table. The starters were good (we had the octopus on a violet potato mash with cold bisque and the milanese style meatballs) but the main courses and dessert were a bit disappointing. The chicken rolls filled with asparagus were over cooked to the point of plastic like and the artichokes at the artichoke and prawns pasta were under cooked and under seasoned. The white chocolate sphere could have been executed better and the ice cream was, just an ice cream. The service was nice and friendly but not attentive (no one came to check how the dishes are). On the whole for us it was 6/10 but with a bit more attention to details it could easily be higher.”

“This restaurant and hotel was a life saver for us. A family of 14 traveling with 5 kids staying nearby because we didn’t knew about this place. We went for dinner upon our arrival to Pompeii and were impressed with the food, environment but most of all, with the friendly staff. They speak English and gave us advices of places to go and streets to avoid because of lack of sidewalks. We asked if we could come back for breakfast and they made the arrangements for the 14 of us. Breakfast is buffet with eggs, assorted breads, yogurts, cereals, and made to order drinks. The day that we left we went back and asked them for help with a taxi and the friendly staff coordinated for us. We will be forever grateful with this place and totally recommend it.”
