Her knowledgeable of the menu was thorough but her recommendations set the bar high for others. Each of her recommendations were true to her word. This is so valuable for out of towners. “A really pleasant lunch experience. The food was very good, piping hot and exactly as ordered. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. The diner was updated and very clean. I will definitely be back to try some of their other options rather than the breakfast I had for lunch. p.s. The breakfast did come with toast, but I'm gluten free so they offered me several options other than bread.”

“Good food. Portions were average. The breakfast buffet was standard with basic choices, but it looked good, especially if you want a traditional breakfast. The atmosphere was friendly and the restaurant , beautiful and spacious. It was not crowded when we were there on a Sunday morning, and that was a definite plus. Adding almond milk as a choice for coffee would be a suggestion.”

“I had a veggie burrito & it was pretty good my boyfriend ordered a taco salad it no meat & added some grilled veggies in it. Overall the food was good & our server on point however it was freezing cold in there & it was a cold day already in the 40's so yeah it was kinda ti cold to relax & really enjoy the food. Oh & the parking is across the street from the restaurant.”

“This is home-cooking @ it's best. One of the specials today was the volcano pot roast which I had because it's one of my favorites. The roast beef is tender & plentiful with gravy over mashed potatoes & on a piece of white bread with onion straws on top. Somehow that piece of white bread tastes so good with soaked up gravy & reminds me of my youth. Seasoned green beans with onion bits & bacon round out the perfect meal. I had the leftovers for supper & it's great reheated, too. Harlan Cafe has great skillet breakfasts, sampler, & pancakes & several different waffles done to perfection. Never had a bad meal here!”

“Went here for breakfast. We got to the restaurant around 8:00 am and there was no wait, so we were immediately seated. Great ambience, nice service, good food! Price range is mid-level, comparable to other breakfast/brunch places in the area. Dishes were about $12-16. My husband ordered the hangry platter-- it's their take on the usual breakfast platter (eggs, bacon and toast). It came with Belgian waffles which we loved. The strawberry syrup that came with the waffles satisfied our sweet tooth. The waffles are also perfectly cooked-- crisp on the edges but soft and tasty on the inside. I recommend getting the waffles as your side. I ordered their early bird hash skillet, which is loaded with carefully cut roasted vegetables and smothered with cream sauce. I like the portions of the dish-- the amount of potato hash did not feel overwhelming, the vegetables were well cooked and roasted, and the cream sauce did not drown the whole dish and overpower the other components. For our beverage, I ordered the cappuccino and husband got the cold brew. Cappuccino was very good. For $4, I'd order it again. Husband ordered the cold brew for $6. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would probably go back and try other food in their menu!”
