“The restaurant itself is very appealing. Parking can be tricky, I was lucky to find a spot because someone was leaving. Other than that it’s small and tight. Service was good. They were very attentive. We did half and half oysters. Half …”

“I visited Trez Wine Bar on the recommendation of a friend who joined me for the evening. It was my first time at this establishment, and my friend had praised the ambiance. Upon arrival, the place was dimly lit, and a DJ was playing music, setting the mood. My friend had already ordered gumbo before my arrival, and we decided to take advantage of their happy hour specials. I opted for the Brussels sprouts and a side salad, ordering two servings of each, all of which turned out to be delicious. I chose not to have any meat in my order. While the gumbo was good, it's worth noting that they don't include pork in their recipe. The owner, who also served as our bartender and hostess, came to take our order. However, the DJ's loud music made it difficult for us to hear each other. I have some hearing impairment on my right side, and my friend was seated on my right, making it a challenge to carry on a conversation. We politely asked the owner if we could move away from the speakers to reduce the noise, but unfortunately, it didn't make much of a difference. The restaurant had reserved plaques on some tables, but they remained unoccupied throughout our two-hour stay. Despite the excessive music volume, I did appreciate the music selection. The small size of the venue amplified the loudness of the music, which was my only major concern. Nevertheless, I would consider returning to Trez Wine Bar, although I was slightly irked by the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, which seems to be a common practice in Houston. It would be helpful if they informed customers about this upfront to avoid double-tipping. Nonetheless, the brussels sprouts and salad were so delightful that I'm looking forward to another visit.”

“Solid tacos at a very reasonable price. The Barbacoa taco was flavored well and tender without being crazy greasy. The pork was very tasty with nice spice level. The tortillas are on the thicker side and we’re good, but I prefer thinner ones. Salsa were both good but I wish the green was as hot as the red because I liked it’s bright flavor better. I would be happy to go back but would not go out of my way to get there.”

“Absolutely fantastic Cajun/Soul food restaurant in Houston!! Delicious food and drink and service par excellence! We had the BEST Brussels sprouts side as an appetizer and then tried several dishes to share. I loved my chicken Alfredo. My wife raved over her salmon. My daughter loved "Da Dirty Rice"! Definitely give this place a try on their Sunday brunch or a special night out with loved ones. I will be back again and again! I definitely want to try the "Yard Bird" next!”

“GROSS!!! Went on 8/26 for the breakfast buffet. First of all I have not been here since before the pandemic, but decided to go and give it another try. As I walked up to the door, there was a smell of throw up, kind of like at a bar that does not promote cleanliness. Once I walked in, I could smell the restrooms that definitely have a septic issue. This place smells and looks unclean.. buffet bar was dirty and staff was pretty rude, when you mentioned to them there were food items that needed to be restocked. Tortillas are pre-made and hard. For a family of 4 and 1 kid, the price was 85 dollars. Too much to eat in a place that smells like a backed up toilet. Pass real hard on this one!!!! However, if you like eating breakfast in place that smells like a dirty restroom, go before 10am, by 1030 the buffet changes almost entirely to lunch.”

“Pretty good spot for some halal Mexican dining. The restaurant is like a sports bar but cozy enough for family dining. The service is friendly and attentive enough. Tried a number of items including the beef fajita burrito (which was excellent especially with the white sauce on the top), the ground beef enchiladas which were pretty good as well and the chicken fajitas which unfortunately weren't as flavourful. We were also given chips and dips as starters which was a great way to start. The prices are generally reasonable. Worth a visit if you are craving some halal Mexican food.”

“First visit and it won’t be the last. The food was excellent. I had the huevos rancheros (pictured) and it was the best I’ve ever had. There are plenty of things on the menu that I want to try so I have plenty of reasons to go back.”

“My grandson and I visited here yesterday for brunch for the first time. You place your order at the counter and then it’s brought out to your table. I had the fried chicken wings and waffles. The chicken was fried to perfection, it just needed more seasoning. The waffles were just okay. My grandson ordered the French toast and a side of bacon and egg. After two bites of the French toast he pushed it away and said it wasn’t very good. I took a bite and it was like a sponge. The more I chewed the tougher it seemed to get. I don’t know what type of bread it was but they were pretty awful. The bacon was overcooked to my taste. He did enjoy the eggs. Now I understand why they collect the tip first.”

“Great meal in a well-decorated, intimate space. The tacos combo is a good value considering the high quality of the food. The pastor and BBQ chicken tacos were delicious standouts. Solid homemade tortillas. Maybe the best mimosa I've ever tasted? Can't wait to go back and try the 3-course dinner menu with wine pairings.”

“3.5/5. We would go again but we would not order the pozole or sunny side eggs. The service was 10/10 which is why we are giving them a 4 stars instead of 3. Everything was very mild on taste but the place was clean and they chorizo con huevo plate was not bad. We were disappointed to get French fries inside of diced potatoes since they tasted like frozen fries from a bad and not cooked on a skillet. We would go try their dinner but it’s not our first choice for breakfast.”
