“A completely unexpected hidden treasure. Despite all of the high-end reviews of Mr. Sunshine and being included on lists of “Places to eat”. We stumbled upon this café, as the highest rated breakfast restaurant in the area. We were not sure driving over to it as it is in an industrial, in a tucked away area. But once we got there, boy were we surprised at what we found. We found a very cozy, welcoming fun atmosphere. If you go here, you will know what we mean. Plenty of seating outside in a covered, enclosed area. If you are chilly out there, they even have homemade blankets you can pull over your shoulders. Inside, we felt like we were at home, but if our home was retro. It was such a comfortable spot to be in. It had a retro feel, a lot of buzz, with music playing on a record player. Just a joy to see. Add, on to that no matter how busy they are (which has been both times we have been there), they are all very attentive, and give amazing service. We never make reservations, but they have always quickly found ways to accommodate us. Now the food takes this spot to a whole new level. The flavours mix in what you would expect with a traditional brunch, but they add in the amazing flavours of areas like the middle east. Every dish is executed very well, which would seem surprising based on how busy the kitchen it, but it has been consistently great. We would recommend the shakshuka eggs, the french toast and “El Capitan” breakfast. Overall, high recommendations for Mr. Sunshine. We can confidently say they will not disappoint but will surprise you.”

“We were unsure about visiting for breakfast as menu refers to brunch. Arrived at 8.30 am Saturday before shopping in nearby Drake's, and already other customers. Good humming atmosphere, clean well laid out with pleasant outdoor option that still allows unrestricted rural view. We prefer a place offering the kind of food we wouldn't be trying at home, and the menu was full of such options. Turns out there were good, interesting and tasty breakfast options, which even satisfied finicky 16 year old son. Coffee was smooth and to our liking. Breads (Turkish and bagel) were softer than expected, but seemed wholesome and very nice. Service was friendly and food arrived quickly. Certainly expect to return.”

“A good place to go for brunch in Unley. For us, it would not be our first choice to go, but a very close second. Would recommend for people with families, as it is set up well for them. They even have a play area. The only issue with this is it gets quite loud in a small eating area. Inside it is very modern, clean but a little dark. I actually feel like we are sitting at the cafeteria at IKEA! Service has been fantastic every time we have gone, and probably why we do go back. When we have had to ask about adjustments to a dish, they have been more than helpful, and suggested options for us. Great service, attentive and fast. Now the food is pretty good for what it is. Not much imagination in the menu, as mostly standard fare on offer. The dishes we have had have been done very well though, so we have no complaints. We would recommend the beans on toast. Overall, a good spot to go if that is the type of place you are looking for or prefer.”

“My visit to Cafe Bang Bang was prompted by the enticing online pictures and reasonable prices. We ordered the chili egg served with toast and egg haloumi. Initially, we intended to dine indoors, but the indoor seating felt stuffy and uncomfortably warm, so we opted for outdoor seating instead. The presentation of the chili egg was impressive, but sadly, it lacked seasoning, leaving it somewhat bland. The bread, while tasty, was a bit dry, and there was a noticeable absence of any accompanying sauce for the eggs or butter for the bread. On the other hand, the egg haloumi, although it may have seemed unassuming, surprised us with its better flavor profile compared to the egg dish.”

“This cafe gets ludicrously busy around 9am weekdays and it is arguable if the staff are able to cope with the volume. People wait inordinate amounts of time for their coffee (saw people waiting 10 minutes for their takeaway) But in saying that, omg, the coffee is amazing and explains why people are willing to wait. This beats anything I had in Adelaide recently. Up there with Coffee Branch in the vicinity, probably slightly better. The sandwiches are also so well done. My chicken sandwich had fresh celery, parsley among other things. Was so delicious.”

Pavé is the ONLY nice cafe for brunching on the entire West strip of the Parade, (Norwood council needs to tend to this). The food was more affordable than I expected, but this is because the serving was rather small. (I had the Good Waffles). It tasted good and was presented well. Good coffee, too. A little warm since it’s outside/ not air conditioned. I like the array of Adelaide entertainment booklets. Good to see the owners supporting the local arts. I will definitely come back with friends, soon. :)”
