“If I could give zero stars, I would. I have been planning this trip for my mom’ birthday for over a year now and was really excited to be here because the property was beautiful. We were waiting to check in when a pit bull charged at me out of no where and attempted to bite me three times. I panicked so bad and began screaming for help. The hotel clerk was sitting less than 20 feet away and I’m positive she heard my screams for help, yet she didn’t bother to go and check what was going on. My mom tried pulling the dog away from me, and I got away. I went inside the office which was about 10 feet from where the incident was taking place. I told the hotel clerk what happened and asked if she could please ask them to put their dog on a leash. She was very indifferent towards me, and didn’t even ask if I was ok. She proceeded to tell me that they were valued local guests and that she couldn’t do anything because dogs are allowed on the property. I was very shocked and offended by her lack of concern. Once my mom and I stepped outside, the dog owners who appeared intoxicated began harassing us by saying that I shouldn’t scream so loudly because I scared their dog and that he was friendly. They completely disregarded the scary experience I had with their pet charging me and took zero accountability for it. They were loud and rude towards my mother and I and began to get really aggressive towards us. The hotel clerk came over and said that she could offer me a refund.I agreed since I no longer felt safe being in such a secluded area with such aggressive people, and the hotel clerk who was siding with them when they were clearly in the wrong. The place is very beautiful and a great deal, but I would advise anyone visiting to be careful of potentially aggressive dogs roaming the property;and to anticipate locals being favored over tourist.”

“These cabanas were a last minute thing, it was Saturday afternoon and all other decent hotels were full. very friendly guy at entrance - beware, google maps sends you the wrong way. Got a last cabana with one small bed, no room for putting your things, just tiny, and this for 1050 pesos. the bathroom was very roomy, hot water came quickly, so no complaint about that. The bed was horrible, very old mattress where we felt every spring. It all looks pretty improvised, nice adobe walls but ugly plywood ceiling etc. For that price it seems pretty ridiculous to us. But that's the problem with the pueblos magicos, suddenly everything is expensive and all the shabby hotels are boutique”
