Lodalsvegen 493, 6789 Loen, Norway

“We enjoyed ourselves in a basement apartment under the reception. A bit of debris and speed outside that could well have been fixed. Not electric car charging slows down. Nice apartment. Pleasant service and fairly priced. Canoe, rowing boat and other for hire. Kiosk with a good selection. Some fresh baked goods if you're lucky. Magical view in good weather. Really a nice place.”

Elverum Camping

Halfdan Grans veg 6, 2407 Elverum, Norway

“this camp we stayed in last night was one of the best this trip. Elverum Campground, Norway. We rang in the afternoon to book a cabin as the weather is very unstable at the moment. He offered us the smallest cheapest cabin, twin beds, no water, at pretty much the same rate as most other cabins we have stayed in with the same description. What he failed to tell us though, is that it had a kettle, coffee machine, fridge, bench top oven, 2 elements and all the kitchen gear we needed + most importantly a 10 litre bottle to fill with water and a big bowl with dish cleaning equipment. The only thing we needed to leave for was the toilet/shower! They even had free bikes for us to ride to the supermarket. Loads of showers and toilets with the dressing compartment separate from the shower in each cubicle (with doors!!) so everything stayed dry. 100% recommend.”

Moysandveien 96, 4885 Grimstad, Norway

“Amazing place for grown ups and kids. Maybe a little bit more on the expensive site, but the prices are justified. New, clean, easy, comfortable.”

Aurdal Fjordcamping
4.5
( 16 reviews )

Vestringslinna 252, 2910 Aurdal, Norway

“Really subpar for a solo tent camper. The main tent area by the river wasn't accessible for some reason (perhaps high water), so got put in the grassy strip between caravan rows. Seems more like a trailer park than a campground to be honest, with many permanent campers. The place is kind of overrun with kids and early teens too. They were loud, made it impossible to use one of the common buildings with comfy couches, and aggressively kicked a soccer ball around right next to my camp sight. The location is very good however, with some very nice scenery on the Valdres River, and this place is probably good for families with kids. If you're a tent camper, better to go to Fagernes, Beitostølen, or Vang.”

Hokksund Camping As

“Superb location. Clean facility. They offer sauna and You can hop on a surfboard if You wish so.We visited this camp off season. According to the staff it is very busy during the season,1500 people crammed here so I am glad we had plenty of tent spots to choose from and could enjoy the beach.”

Hove Leirsted / Hove Camping

Hoveveien 100, 4818 Færvik, Norway

“Close to beautiful nature and lots of space to be away from other campers in the off season. The price is very good and all the walks you can take in nature from your doorstep, amazing. But the showers are only communal showers. Meaning in the peak season you will have to take showers with strangers of the same gender. No kitchen facilities but at least two sinks to do the dishes. The cleanliness wasn't very good. It seems they only clean the toilets and showers once a week. Not good enough when people are sharing them. On the weekends it's very loud until after midnight thanks to the local youth and their motorcycles hanging around the camp site. During the week it is fairly quiet after 10 pm. I wouldn't want to visit this camp site during peak season as there is a lot of room and probably a lot of people.”

“We stayed in late February, lots of snow - the cabin was warm, cosy and in great condition. We slept well, two bedrooms and a toilet/shower room, plus a kitchen dinner settee area to relax and cook. Parking next to the cabin. We were really impressed with the value/price as a base to explore the local area. Reception were really helpful.”

“It's a nice place, close to the mountains and glacier on the tops. The cabin has different rooms, all styled as Norwegian cabin, many have toilet and shower. You can make sandwiches during breakfast and cover with food paper to take with you to your hike. Solbærtoddy is highly recommended. Good parking space. Hiking equipment, guides. Beautiful nature.”

“Very cozy relaxing place. Amenities simple and very clean. Hot showers, nice outdoor dish station, lovely walk along the river in the morning, and the northern lights visited us here! So close to little village but feels like you are in a very undeveloped area.”

Grindafjord Holiday Center As
4.2
( 16 reviews )

Skjoldastraumsveien 212, 5570 Aksdal, Norway

“Good place to stay, fun waterpark for the kids and so on. Deducting one star because of the dude trying to get laid blasting Alan Jackson and Creedence so everyone could hear each night, guess the kids running this place either didn't dare telling him he's unlayable, or perhaps they're also fans of old music people stopped listening to 20 - 30 years ago.”

Høysand Camping
4.1
( 8 reviews )

Nancy Johannessens vei 5, 1747 Skjeberg, Norway

“There are not many spaces for a tent. Toilets were a bit on the smaller side. Kitchen with microwave, oven, and electric stove. Good location close to the border and swimming facilities nearby. Friendly staff, although there was a bit of a language barrier.”

Bergsjøstølen Fjellstue
4.5
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 04:00 PM

Bergsjøstølen 2, 3570 Ål, Norway

“Poor customer management I can't really let a review about the location or the rooms as I had to cancel my trip 11 days prior to arrival. I was not the one to plan the trip, therefore I was not given the right price (I was told it was a certain price per ROOM not per person) nor told about cancelling fees (which you have to pay for cancelling less than 14 days prior, yes we are talking about a 3 day delta). Now they are asking for £228 for cancelling 3 days too late and won't even acknowledge the misunderstanding or ask for less. They are even charging for food I won't eat! That is really amazing customer management here.”
